Sunday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the German Bundesliga, and there’s one team in particular that appeals to me to make the net bulge at least twice.
⚽️ Union Berlin vs VfL Bochum
🇩🇪 Bundesliga
⏰ Sunday 16th April, 16:30
Union Berlin will look to strengthen their position inside the top-four as they welcome relegation-threatened Bochum to the Stadion An der Alten Försterei on Sunday teatime.
Union Berlin suffered just their second defeat across their previous 12 Bundesliga matches last Saturday, as they were beaten 2-1 away at title-chasing Borussia Dortmund. Whilst that was their sixth league defeat away from home this term, Urs Fischer’s side remains unbeaten in front of their supporters, winning 10 and drawing four of their 14 Bundesliga fixtures at home.
Bochum saw their three-match unbeaten run come to an end last time out, as they suffered a damaging 2-3 defeat at home to relegation rivals – leaving them just three points above the relegation playoff spot. Thomas Letsch’s visitors have struggled badly on their travels this campaign, with only Hertha BSC (5) collecting fewer points than the seven they have earned.
Bet of the Day
Union have found the back of the net in 11/13 of their Bundesliga fixtures as hosts this season, scoring 24 goals. The Iron Ones have struck on multiple occasions in 10 (77%) of those contests, and I’m happy to back them to bag another double at home to a Bochum defence that has shipped two or more goals in 10/14 (71%) of their Bundesliga fixtures on the road this term – and three or more in nine (64%) of them.
- Union Berlin to Score 2+
- Pays 10/11 (William Hill)
