Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the English Championship, and there’s one fixture in particular that stands out to me for goals.

Middlesbrough will look to keep their hopes for automatic promotion alive as they travel to Wales to take on Swansea City at the Swansea.com Stadium tomorrow afternoon.
Swansea’s poor run of form continued away at Luton last time out, as they were defeated 1-0 by The Hatters, meaning they have taken just four points across their last seven Championship matches (W1-D1-L5). Russell Martin’s side has also struggled at home in recent months, winning just two of their previous eight Championship fixtures in front of their supporters (W2-D2-L4). However, The Swans have found the back of the net in 11 of their last 12 league contests at the Swansea.com Stadium, scoring on multiple occasions in eight of those.
Middlesbrough bounced back from their 2-0 defeat at West Brom by thrashing away-day strugglers Reading 5-0 at the Riverside last Saturday. Michael Carrick’s visitors have now won 13 of their last 16 Championship fixtures but have lost three of their previous seven on the road. Boro have found the back of the net in 17 of their last 19 Championship tussles, scoring on multiple occasions in 13 of those.
Bet of the Day
Middlesbrough are the second-highest scoring side in the Championship with 61 goals, and they should relish coming up against a Swans defence that’s registered a league-low six clean sheets in the league this season. However, Russel Martin’s hosts have failed to score in just one of their last 12 Championship fixtures at home and will look to trouble a Boro defence that’s kept just one clean sheet on the road all season.
Over 2.5 Goals has landed in a league-high 13/18 (72%) of Middlesbrough’s away Championship fixtures this season – and given the same has banked in nine of Swansea’s previous 12 league fixtures at home – I reckon there’s a strong chance we’ll see at least three goals in Southwest Wales tomorrow afternoon.
