ARBROATH have failed to hit the heights of last season’s stunning campaign, but they can win a massive game on Saturday at Cove Rangers at a big price.
Dick Campbell’s side came within 12 minutes of promotion last season and they’ve never really recovered from that blow this term.
They currently sit in the relegation play-off positions, but a win in Aberdeen would put them to within a point of Cove, who have been struggling recently.
Curiously, Arbroath were famed for picking up points at their Gayfield stronghold, but their home form has been poor this term.
However, they have already gone to Dundee and Morton this year and won. They seem to be a team who enjoy playing on the break.
Cove won at Partick Thistle the other week in a real shock, but that was their only win in their last seven games and they have recently lost six goals to Queen’s Park and five and three to Ayr United at their Balmoral Stadium.
And the 17/10 looks like good value for an away win, with the Red Lichties bringing up a big support too.
DUNFERMLINE produced one of the best comebacks of recent years last week against Airdrie and the sides meet again this week in Fife in League One.
James McPake has been linked with the Motherwell job and won’t have done his cause any harm after they came back from 3-0 down at Airdrie to eventually win 4-3.
In fairness, Airdrie completely fell apart when they went down to ten men after Callum Smith was sent off conceding a penalty for Dunfermline’s first goal, but that must have ripped apart their confidence and given the Pars a huge boost.
Dunfermline are unbeaten at East End Park this season and with great rivals, Falkirk breathing down their necks, they know only a win will do. The 17/20 is perfectly acceptable.
CALEY THISTLE look a solid shout at 20/21 to beat Hamilton Accies in the Championship.
Billy Dodds’ side produced by far their best display of the season to stun Livingston at the Tony Macaroni Arena last week in the Scottish Cup tie and their 3-0 win was a huge financial boost for the Inverness club.
Accies have improved recently but were well outplayed for the vast majority of their Scottish Cup defeat at home to Hearts.
They didn’t disgrace themselves by any means, but ICT will have taken a huge boost from that win and momentum is with them.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
ARBROATH 17/10
DUNFERMLINE 17/20
CALEY THISTLE 20/21.
