Nice will be looking to stretch their unbeaten run in Ligue 1 to six matches when they face Ajaccio on Friday night.
The hosts are still feeling the full force of the new manager bounce under caretaker Didier Digard, who has steered his side to 13 points from a possible 15, the most recent of which were obtained with a mighty impressive 3-1 win at Marseille.
As for Ajaccio, they remain in the relegation zone following last week’s 2-0 reverse when hosting mid-table Nantes, although the visitors do remain just one point from safety.
Having said that, Olivier Pantaloni’s men have won just two league games all season so far and that is reflected in the odds here, with Nice general 4/7 chances.
However, we can get some 10/11 with William Hill about the home team scoring two more goals on Friday night and that looks a worthy boost in price.
As already alluded to, Nice are in good form at the moment, having defeated Lille, Lens and Marseille across their last three outings – a trio of teams currently housed above them in the French top-flight standings.
What’s more, prior to those aforementioned victories, Digard’s interim period as manager started with a 6-1 mauling of Montpellier before a hard-fought draw with Reims.
This a stark contrast to a relegation-threatened Ajaccio side that have fallen to defeat in six of their last seven league games, with their only success during that sequence coming courtesy of a 2-1 win over basement boys Angers.
It’s also worth pointing out that the Bears were battered 7-1 at Monaco last month and have lost to Toulouse, Lyon and Nantes either side of that rout, shipping at least two goals on each occasion.
With all that in mind, backing a Nice side that are on an upward curve and with some real talent within their squad to strike twice on Friday night stands out at 10/11 (William Hill).
