Managerless Leeds United make the trip along the M62 for tonight’s Premier League match at Old Trafford.
Unusually the match isn’t live on TV in the UK, not legally anyway, and it’s the first of a double-header between the sides who also meet in league action at Elland Road on Sunday. A Man Utd Double pays 17/10 at SBK.
Jesse Marsch was relieved of his duties on Monday after seven Premier League games without a win, leaving Leeds to look for thier 12th permanent manager in just over a decade. West Brom’s Carlos Corberon is the bookies’ favourite at 6/5 with former boss Marcelo Bielsa and his bucket at 7/1 to make a swift return to Elland Road. Other names in the frame include out-of-work Mauricio Pochettino (9/1), former Sothampton gaffer Ralph Hasenhuttl (12/1) and Celtic’s highly thought of Australian boss Ange Postocoglou at 14s.
Whoever takes over the reigns will be tasked with one thing, and that’s to keep Leeds in the Premier League but that task will likely be a little more difficult by 10pm tonight.
The Red Devils boast the most points won in the Premier League since the World Cup break and are on a run of 13 consecutive home wins in all competitions. And, you have to go back to 1981 for tonight’s visitors last top flight win at Old Trafford, so everything looks stacked in Man United’s favour.
Furthermore, Leeds have scored just four times in six matches since the league resumed while Man Utd have already equalled last season’s tally of eight clean sheets. A home win to nil pays 13/8.
Despite him scoring 11 goals in 13 games since the World Cup we can still get 21/20 on Marcus Rashford popping up with another goal tonight and he looks most likely on current form.
