Friday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me once more focus on La Liga, and there’s one fixture in particular that stands out to me for goals at both ends.
⚽️ Celta de Vigo vs Sevilla
🇪🇸 La Liga
⏰ Friday 30th December, 18:15
Two struggling clubs separated by only one point in the La Liga table meet at Balaídos tomorrow evening as 17th-placed Celta Vigo plays host to 18th-placed Sevilla.
Celta Vigo entered the World Cup break in terrible form, with their 0-0 draw at Rayo Vallecano last time out being one of only two points collected over their last seven La Liga matches. Carlos Carvalhal’s side have kept just four clean sheets this season and boasts the division’s joint-second worst defence, shipping 26 goals across their opening 14 league fixtures. Los Celestes have found the back of the net in 11/14 of their La Liga matches this season, including in all seven as hosts.
Sevilla also entered the World Cup break in poor form, with their 1-2 defeat at home to Real Sociedad last time out extending their winless run in the league to five matches to leave a point from safety. Jorge Sampaoli’s visitors have registered just a solitary clean sheet in La Liga so far this season, conceding 22 goals across their opening 14 matches. Los Nervionenses have found the back of the net in 11/14 of their league outings this season, including in all seven on their travels.
Bet of the Day
Celta Vigo and Sevilla headed into the World Cup break on poor runs of form, with the hosts having collected just two points across their previous seven matches, whilst Jorge Sampaoli’s hosts have lost three of their last four league matches.
Both teams to score has landed in 10/14 (71%) of Sevilla’s fixtures in La Liga this season – including in six of their seven away matches- and given both have gotten on the scoresheet in 5/7 (71%) of Celta’s league fixtures in front of their supporters, I reckon there is a good chance we’ll see the pair get on the scoresheet at Balaídos on Friday evening.
