Friday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the fixture in the Scottish Championship and I like the look of goals at both ends.
Partick Thistle vs Inverness CT
🏴 Championship
⏰ Friday 19th August, 19:45
Two of the favourites for promotion come the end of the season in the Scottish Championship meet at Firhill on Friday evening, as Partick Thistle play host to Inverness CT.
Partick Thistle suffered their first defeat of the season last time out, as they were beaten 3-2 against newly-promoted Queen’s Park. Prior to that, lan McCall’s side had taken four points from their opening two league fixtures against Dundee and Hamilton respectively, as well as winning three and drawing one of their four League Cup group-stage games. The Jags have found the back of the net in all seven of their competitive fixtures this season, scoring on 15 occasions. Thistle have only managed the one clean sheet so far though, with that coming at home to Highland League side Fraserbrough.
After beginning their league campaign with back-to-back draws against both Queen’s Park and Arbroath, Inverness claimed their first three points of the season, as they defeated Cove Rangers 4-1. Like Partick, Billy Dodds’ side won three and drew one of their four League Cup group-stage matches, including a 1-2 win away at Premiership side Livingston. Caley Thistle have found the back of the net in 6/7 of their competitive fixtures this season, scoring on 13 occasions. Inverness have managed three clean sheets from their opening seven fixtures this season, however two of those came against lower league opposition in the form of Kelty Hearts (League One) and Albion Rovers (League Two).
Bet of the Day
Partick Thistle will look to bounce back from their first defeat of the season on Friday night, as they play host to Inverness at Firhill. Caley Thistle remain unbeaten so far this season and collected their first three points of the league campaign by thrashing Cove Rangers 4-1 last weekend.
Billy Dodds’ visitors have found the back of the net in 6/7 of their league and cup matches this season, netting 13 goals and will look to breach a Partick defence who’s only clean sheet came against Highland League side Fraserbrough. lan McCall’s hosts have struck in all seven of their competitive fixtures this season, scoring 15 times and I expect them to increase that tally against an Inverness defence that’s conceded in two of their opening three league fixtures.
