You know things aren’t going well when Paddy Power are paying out early on you being sacked. Welcome to Erik Ten Hag’s world.
Every new Man United defeat feels like they’ve hit rock-bottom but still they find a way to sink even lower these days. Yesterday’s humiliating 4-0 defeat leaves them bottom of the table and shortened to 20/1 to be relegated.
They host Liverpool next weekend and are an unbelievable 6/1 to win at Old Trafford. Incredible!
Match of the Day in the Premier League is at Stamford Bridge where Spurs are the visitors. Chelsea have bossed this fixture, limiting Tottenham to just seven wins from 60 Premier League meetings and just one league win at the Bridge since February 1990.
Things haven’t been great recently either for Spurs who’ve lost the last four to Cheslea and failed to score in six of the last seven.
That kind of record is enough to put you off going all out for a Spurs win at 23/10. Antonio Conte has them well-drilled and are deadly going forward and it could be a good time to play Chelsea who coasted to a win at Everton last week with overly impressing. Spurs on the Draw No Bet market at 5/4 gives the insurance we need should it finish level.
In Scotland Jack Ross must somehow pick up the pieces for Dundee United after a 7-0 mauling at AZ Alkmaar on Thursday. But a trip to Tynecastle is the kind of fixture he could’ve done without today.
Hearts were denied a derby win at the death last weekend after failing to put the match to bed. They should be good enough to rub more salt in to those United wounds, especially on their own turf. Money has come for Hearts but they’re still backable as part of an acca at 3/5.
Celtic make the short trip to Kilmarnock for the lunchtime kick-off. Kille usually make things difficult for the Hoops on the astro and will set their stall out to frustrate the champions, midfielder Rory McKenzie said as much pre-match, “We will be set up to stop them playing, make fouls, slow it down then try to play when we get the ball. We don’t want it to be a free-flowing spectacle”
That could lead to a few bookings for the Ayrshire side. They picked up six at Ibrox last week (to Rangers’ zero) and with the likes of Power, Taylor and Lafferty in their ranks there’s plenty of potential for yellows to be flashed. They’re 9/10 to win the card count on the Asian Handicap -1.0 (so money back if they only get one more card than Celtic) or better still, back them at 10/11 to pick up over 2.5 cards.
The aformentioned Alan Power has collected six yellows and two reds in his career against Celtic and he’s a solid 5/4 to go in to the referee’s notebook once more.
Bundesliga is back and it looks like it’s going to be just as much a madhouse for goals as it usually is. In 16 games played so far 14 have seen Both Teams Score and 13 of them have gone Over 2.5. 11 of them have actually finished with Over 3.5 Goals so although the bookies are on top of things it’s always worth looking around for some value.
Mainz and Union Berlin meet this afternoon after both won on the opening day last weekend. Mainz scored twice away from home last weekend, while Union struck three past Hertha in the Berlin Derby. Over 2.5 is odds against at 21/20 which really catches the eye and anytime evens or above is available on three or more goals in a Bundesliga match you have to give it some consideration.
Good luck to followers of The Caddy on Sunday. Things are looking good so far on both tours this weekend.
Ewen Ferguson, tipped at 25/1, is leading ISPS Handa by a very promising three shots whilst one of The Caddy’s other picks, Conner Syme is lurking a couple of shots back.
At the FedEx play-offs, Will Zalatoris is two shots off the pace on -11 and Tony Finau and Sam Burns are still in the hunt a further two strokes behind. Fingers crossed for yet another winner for our top tipster who has already delivered profit on one of his matchbets (Will Zalatoris to beat Jordan Spieth who missed the cut) and is in a promosing postion with his other where David Law is two shots in front of Richard Bland for the SuperNAP!
