It’s almost week two at Wimbledon as we look forward to day 8 and an exciting week ahead at SW19.
We are now seeing the remaining last 16 matches before moving onto the quarter-final stages early in the week.
I’ll be aiming for a few more aces in week two as the competition heats up and also hoping that both our Naps continue their great run of form all the way to the finals.
Novak Djokovic to win the Men’s singles is now best priced 4/9 from an advised 4/5 while Ons Jabeuris at the time of writing is currently playing Elise Mertens where the best outright price I can see is 6/4 from an advised 13/5.
One player safety into the quarter-finals is British No1 hopeful Cameron Norrie who comfortably seen off American Tommy Paul in straight sets 6-4, 7-5,6-4.
Heather Watson however wasn’t so fortunate on centre court in the woman’s singles as Jule Niemeier silenced the home crowd with a straight-sets victory 6-2, 6-4.
For Monday’s day 8 Ace, I’m going to focus on the last 16 matches between Alex de Minaur v Christian Garin. The Aussie should be too strong for the Chilean and a place in the quarter-finals beckons.
In the three matches between the pair, Garin has yet to win a set and with the Aussie more suited to grass then I can only see that trend continuing on Court 2 on Monday. The pair met only a fortnight ago at Eastbourne where Alex de Minaur cruised to a straight-sets victory 6-3, 6-3.
In the last seven sets they have played, Minaur has broken the man from Chile on no less than fourteen occasions. I’m going for the Aussie to be on fire yet again and hot chillies won’t get in his way.
