Tuesday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me once more focus on the Nations League fixtures and I’ve picked out a match I like the look of goals at both ends. To boost the price up, I’ve added in a cards angle.
Poland 🇵🇱 vs Belgium 🇧🇪
🇪🇺 Nations League
⏰ Tuesday 14th June, 19:45
Two sides who come into this level on points in Group A4 go head-to-head in Warsaw, as Poland play host to Belgium at the PGE Narodowy Stadion.
Despite racing into a two-goal lead in Rotterdam, Poland drew 2-2 against the Netherlands on Saturday evening and it could’ve been worse if Memphis Depay didn’t miss a stoppage-time penalty. That now means The Eagles have collected four points from their opening three group fixtures, having defeated Wales 2-1 in their opener before being thrashed 6-1 away in Brussels. Poland scored in all 11 of their World Cup qualifiers/playoffs, as well as in each of their opening three Nations League matches, scoring a total of 37 goals. Czesław Michniewicz’s side have conceded in all three of their Nations League fixtures, with their only clean sheets in World Cup qualifying coming away to Albania and at home to minnows Andorra and San Marino, as well as against Sweden in their playoff final.
Despite taking the lead at the start of the second half, Belgium failed to make it successive wins, as they conceded late on to draw 1-1 against Wales in Cardiff. The Red Devils bounced back from their 1-4 thumping by near-neighbours the Netherlands by inflicting a 6-1 thumping of their own, at home to Poland. Belgium scored in all eight of their World Cup qualifiers, as well as in each of their opening three Nations League qualifiers, scoring on 33 occasions. Roberto Martínez’s side have also conceded in all three of their Nations League fixtures, with their only three clean sheets in World Cup qualification coming against bottom side Belarus (twice) and at home to the Czech Republic.
Bet of the Day
Just six days on from Belgium’s 6-1 victory over Poland in Brussels, the pair go head-to-head once more in Warsaw this evening and I’m expecting more goals between the two. Czesław Michniewicz’s hosts scored in all 11 of their World Cup qualifiers/playoff, as well as in each of their three opening Nations League fixtures, whilst The Red Devils scored in all eight of their World Cup qualifiers as well as in their opening three Nations League fixtures. Neither side are particularly tight at the back, with both sides yet to register a clean sheet in the Nations League. What’s more, three of Poland’s four clean sheets in World Cup qualifying came away to Albania and at home to minnows Andorra and San Marino’s, whilst two of Roberto Martínez’s sides three clean sheets in World Cup qualifying came against bottom side Belarus. Therefore, given both sides attacking prowess and their lack of clean sheets, just like the reverse fixture, I’m happy to back both of these nations to find the back of the net this evening. To boost the price up, I’ve added both sides to receive a card, a play that’s landed in both of these side Nations League fixtures so far.
