Sunday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me delve into both the Swedish and Icelandic top-flights and I’ve picked out two sides that I like the look of to score at least twice.
Djurgärden vs Varbergs BoIS

Djurgärden will look to keep up their strong home record, as they host Varberg at the Tele2 Arena. The hosts come into matchday 11 in fifth, five points off the top three, whilst the visitors are 12th, four points behind their opponents.
Djurgärden suffered more away-day misery last time out, as they conceded in stoppage-time to lose 1-0 against Kalmar. Lars-Erik Sjöberg’s side have won four and drawn one of their opening five fixtures at home this season, including a 4-0 victory over reigning champions Malmö in their last home match. Djurgärden have scored 15 of their 16 goals in the Allsvenskan at the Tele2 Arena, scoring two or more in all five and three or more in three of them.
Varberg put an end to their five-match winless run last time out, as they defeated third bottom Degerfors 2-1 thanks to a stoppage-time winner. Varberg have won just one of their opening four matches on their travels, drawing one and losing two of their last three. Joakim Persson’s teams three victories in the Allsvenskan have come against bottom-half sides, losing their three matches against sides in the top-eight, conceding seven goals and scoring just once.
Leiknir Reykjavík vs Breidablik

Breidablik will look to continue their perfect start to the season, as they travel to Leiknisvöllur to take on Leiknir Reykjavík. The visitors are five points clear at the top of the Úrvalsdeild table, whilst the hosts are bottom.
Leiknir Reykjavík managed to salvage a point last time out, as they came from behind to draw 1-1 away to KR. Sigurdur Heidar Höskuldsson’s side are still yet to win in the Úrvalsdeild this season, drawing three and losing four of their opening seven fixtures. Leiknir Reykjavík have managed just the one clean sheet so far this season, conceding 11 times, with six of those coming in their last three matches.
Breidablik were involved in a seven-goal thriller last time out, as they scored on the 87th minutes to win 4-3 at home to Fram. That result means that Öskar Hrafn porvaldsson’s side still boast a 100% record in the Úrvalsdeild this season, winning all seven of their matches. By a distance, Breidablik are the division’s top-scorers, finding the back of the net 21 times, scoring on multiple occasions in six of their opening seven league fixtures.
Bet of the Day
Djurgärden have struggled on their travels this season but they have been superb in front of their own supporters, winning four and drawing one of their opening five matches at the Tele2 Arena. DIF have scored 15 goals in those five matches, scoring twice or more in all five and I’m happy to back them to keep that run going, against a Varberg side that’s lost all three matches versus top-eight sides this season, conceding seven times in the process.
Breidablik have made a perfect start to the season and I expect them to maintain their 100% record when travelling to bottom side Leiknir Reykjavík. Blikar have found the back of the net a remarkable 21 times in their opening seven Úrvalsdeild matches and I can see them adding to that tally against a winless Leiknir Reykjavík side that’s conceded six goals in their last three.
