After the ‘excitement’ of the FA Cup it’s back to league business on Sunday with no fewer than seven Premier League fixtures this Super Sunday.
Liverpool made it a cup double at Wembley yesterday but if they’re to make it a domestic treble this season they really need West Ham to do them a favour today against Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola’s side can all but wrap up the title with a win at the London Stadium. That would take them six points clear of Liverpool who have two games to play, plus they’d add to their current seven-goal advantage in the goal difference column.
There’s no value in backing City at 2/5, nor in the goals market where they’re the same price to score two or more so the 6/4 on Kevin Be Bruyne to score could be a good option following his four-goal display against Wolves last time out.
Everton looked in a perilous position a matter of weeks ago but they’ve found their best form of the season in recent weeks to give themselves a brilliant chance of survival. A win in today’s home game against Brentford could see them safe if Leeds lose to Brighton.
Brentford though are one of the form teams in the league at the moment with only the top two bettering their recent form but Goodison Park has been defiant in recent weeks and the Toffees’ home form is more than respectable and their eight home wins is more than any other team in the bottom half.
Frank Lampard’s men let plenty of punters down last time out with a 0-0 draw at Watford but should be backed at 21/20 on home soil today.
In Scotland a much-changed St Johnstone side could struggle away to Hibernian who will be hoping to end a disappointing season on a positive note. The Saintees will face Inverness over two legs to retain theur Premiership status so today’s match at Easter Road is nothing more than a distraction for boss Callum Davidson.
He’s admitted that some players will be rested and with a few only a booking away from suspension he won’t be taking many risks. That should present the Hibees with as good a chance as any they’ve had this season of picking up three points at even money with SBK.
Super Single
- Hibernian to win 1/1 SBK
