Boston Uprising kicked off the 2022 OWL season with a narrow 3-2 victory against Vancouver Titans, but they were no match for Los Angeles Gladiators (1-3) on Saturday. Meanwhile, London Spitfire ended the first week of the season with a 1-1 record, with a 0-3 defeat against San Francisco Shock and a commanding 3-0 sweep of Vancouver Titans.
Based on those results, Uprising and Spitfire should be equally strong teams, yet the esports betting sites seem to agree that the Uprising are significantly better. It seems so on paper, but Boston Uprising did not show enough last week for us to recommend a wager on them at $1.40.
We’re still very early into the season, and we shouldn’t overreact to results from the opening week. But at the offered OWL betting odds, it’s hard to pass on London Spitfire, who shouldn’t be priced much higher than even money.

Los Angeles Gladiators head into the second week of the 2022 season with a perfect 2-0 record, having beaten New York Excelsior (3-1) and Boston Uprising (3-1). Dallas Fuel were slightly less successful, losing their season opener against Houston Dallas (0-3), but they bounced back with a 3-0 sweep of Washington Justice on Saturday.
Even though Los Angeles Gladiators picked up two wins, they enter this match as $2.27 underdogs, which doesn’t make much sense. That’s not to say that Dallas Fuel can’t win, but we would argue that they’re slightly weaker than the Gladiators.
We don’t need to overcomplicate things here. Los Angeles Gladiators are in great form and look stronger, making them an excellent pick at outsider odds.
