Winterthur will look to keep the pressure on the top-two in the Swiss Challenge League, as they take on ninth-placed Wil at the Sportpark Bergholz. The visitors are currently just a point behind both Schaffhausen (1st) and Aarau (2nd), whilst the hosts are three points off seventh-placed Stade Lausanne-Ouchy.

Winterthur rescued a point last time out, as they scored a stoppage-time equaliser to draw 2-2 at home to Thun. That was Winterthur’s third successive draw last time out, but it also extended their unbeaten run to eight matches (W4-D4-L0). Alexander Frei’s side have found the back of the net in 27/33 of their Challenge League fixtures this season and are the divisions highest-scoring side, finding the back of the net on 67 occasions. Winterthur have recorded 11 clean sheets so far this season, but just four of them have come on their travels, with them conceding on multiple occasions in seven of their last 10 on their travels.

Alexander Frei’s visitors are the league’s highest scorers (67) and they’ll be confident of adding to that tally against the league’s second-worst defence. Whilst the hosts have shipped 72 goals already this campaign, no side has scored more than them at home (42), with them remarkably scored at least twice in all 16 of their fixtures at the Sportpark Bergholz and there’s every chance they’ll do so once more here given their opponents have shipped two or more in seven of their last 10 away from home. There’s been 16 goals in the three previous fixtures featuring these two sides this season, with over 3.5 goals landing in all three and there’s every chance we’ll see another high-scoring clash between these two sides this evening.
