Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me once again focus on these two sides and just like the first leg, I’m expecting goals between the two.
Marseille vs Feyenoord
🇪🇺 Conference League
⏰ Thursday 5th May, 20:00
After a five-goal thriller in Rotterdam last week, Feyenoord and Marseille square off once again, this time at the Stade Vélodrome as they battle it out for a place in the final of the inaugural Conference League.
Following their first leg defeat in Rotterdam, Marseille were beaten 0-3 by Lyon, meaning they are now just three points above third-placed Rennes and fourth-placed Monaco. Jorge Sampaoli’s side have now kept just one clean sheet in their last 10 Ligue 1 matches at the Vélodrome, aa well as conceding in each of their last three European fixtures on home turf. Marseille have found the back of the net in 28/35 of their Ligue 1 tussles this season, finding the back of the net 56 times. Les Olympiens have also found the back of the net in all seven of their Conference League fixtures, scoring on multiple occasions in six of them.
After their first leg victory at De Kuip, Feyenoord secured their fourth successive in the Eredivisie, as they won 1-3 away to Fortuna Sittard to all but secure third spot. Arne Slot’s men have found the back of the net in all bar three of their 31 league fixtures this season, scoring 72 times. De Stadionclub have also found the back of the net in each of their last 10 Conference League matches, scoring on multiple occasions in all of those. Feyenoord have also conceded in each of their last 10 Conference League fixtures, conceding on multiple occasions in three of their five knockout ties.
Bet of the Day
I successfully backed both sides to get on the scoresheet in the first leg in Rotterdam and I fully expect to see more goals at the Vélodrome this evening. These two sides have scored plenty of goals in the Conference League this season, with Marseille scoring two or more in 6/7 of their matches, whilst Feyenoord have scored a brace in each of their last 10. Given the hosts have conceded in 13 of their last 14 fixtures at the Vélodrome in all competitions and the that the visitors have conceded in each of their last 10 in Europe, I’m keen to back three or more goals in the match with both sides getting on the scoresheet in what should be another entertaining match between these two sides.
