MiBR’s start to the tournament was seriously impressive, with wins against FURIA (7-5) and Ninjas in Pyjamas (7-4), but things soon turned sour for the 2022 Six Invitational semi-finalists. Over the next four series, MiBR managed only one win (7-3 against Black Dragons e-Sports), losing the remaining three against w7m esports (0-7), Team oNe eSports (4-7) and INTZ (5-7).
But even after a winless week, MiBR remain in fourth place with nine points, a spot that they secured largely thanks to the surprisingly high number of overtimes we saw from other mid-table teams. But the question is whether MiBR can bounce back?
We may see MiBR perform better on Friday, but we wouldn’t count on them beating Team Liquid. With two defeats against w7m (3-7) and oNe (6-8), Liquid have shown that they might struggle against top-tier teams, but they have yet to disappoint when faced with mid-table teams. The R6S betting odds on Liquid aren’t very high, but $1.53 is a fair price and worth a wager.

Ninjas in Pyjamas are 1-0-1-4, which puts them in a critical position, which is close to irreversible at this point. They have gone winless for two consecutive weeks, and there was even more bad news for NiP, as Gabriel “pino” Fernandes tested positive for COVID and wasn’t able to play.
But even without pino, Ninjas in Pyjamas defeated FaZe Clan (7-5), emulating their success from the Brasileirão 2021 semi-finals and the Sweden Major Grand Final. Gustavo “Psycho” Rigal was a standout player on the day and a big actor in NiP’s success. Unfortunately, even with the improvement NiP have shown, they couldn’t make it past w7m esports on Sunday, losing the match 5-7.
NiP are expected to struggle against Team oNe eSports, which sounds fair, but we would much rather be with NiP at $2.75 rather than oNe at $1.40. NiP’s situation isn’t perfect, and they are struggling, but we have seen enough from the fallen titans to suggest they can spring an upset here.
