There can be no debate. Charles Leclerc won last weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix on merit. His chief rival, Max Verstappen, may have failed to finish due to a mechanical issue, but he was chasing his rival in vain and he would not have taken anything better than the silver medal. Keep reading for Saudi Arabia Grand Prix tips, odds and F1 betting predictions for the 2nd race of the season.
Saudi Arabia Grand Prix Tips & Preview
Leclerc led all but one lap of the Bahrain race – when his teammate took the lead – and he also set the fastest lap. Mindful he was also the pole-setter, it is clear Ferrari has a very fast car.
Of course, Red Bull also have a speedy motor, but fans and punters must be very concerned about the reliability of the Milton Keynes built car. With both Red Bulls failing to finish in Bahrain, and this weekend’s race in Saudi Arabian Grand Prix presenting an even sterner examination of engine performance at high speeds, only a brave man can back them with confidence.
Charles Leclerc – whose points tally in 2021 did not accurately portray his overall performance – is the obvious choice for this weekend.

Haas Has the Power and the Schu
Kevin Magnussen marked his return to Formula One with an excellent fifth-place finish in Bahrain. His Haas car is powered by the same Ferrari engine that propels Charles Leclerc. It is fast and until now it has been reliable.
Teammate Mick Schumacher could only manage eleventh position in Bahrain. But, considering he was spun around on the opening lap, he did well to recover so well.

It would be no surprise if both Haas cars could finish within the top 10 this Sunday. This wall-line circuit will probably catch a few drivers out, but Schumacher has a fine finishing record, and without the misfortune of being tagged for a second consecutive race weekend, he could claim his first world championship points.

Marginal but Safe?
There is a very real chance of a safety car being used at least once at this weekend’s race. These serve to concertina the field together. Should one be called for towards the end of the race it is massively unlikely the betting line – of ??? seconds – on the winning margin market will be breached.
Additionally, if Ferrari or Red Bull are running first and second entering the closing stages of the contest, it is unlikely they will race one another to the line. Indeed, they would probably cross it with only a small margin between them.
