After delivering no fewer than nine winners from 10 selections last weekend, SlipsTips is back to share two selections from Kilmarnock’s Scottish Championship contest with Queen of the South on Saturday.
Kilmarnock vs Queen of the South (Saturday, 15:00)
New league leaders Kilmarnock will be hoping to maintain their position at the top of the Scottish Championship table with another victory when they play host to Queen of the South on Saturday.
Killie have been working tirelessly to reach the summit of the standings, and it was an emphatic Ayrshire derby triumph coupled with Arbroath’s Highland horror show that made it happen.
Queen of the South, on the other hand, have shown signs of life under new boss Willie Gibson, but they are currently occupying the relegation playoff spot after suffering back-to-back defeats, the most recent of which was at home to Raith Rovers.
As such, the money has started to come for Derek McInnes’ men in this fixture who are generally 7/10 shots but we can get some 4/5 (Bet 365) by merging a home win with under six match goals and that looks like a worthy boost in price.
Whilst Kilmarnock blew Ayr United away in the first half last Friday night, the Rugby Park side have more often than not gone about their title challenge in solid rather than spectacular fashion.
The Ayrshire outfit have won six of their 10 league matches under McInnes’ watch, with each of those six victories featuring four goals or fewer.
Although Queen of the South have shown a marked improvement over the last few weeks, they have slumped to defeat in a lofty 15 of their 29 league games this season, with each of those losses going under the 5.5 goal barrier.
With that in mind, as well as the fact that the above-mentioned combination has clicked in each of Killie’s 16 Championship victories this season so far, supporting the same formula on Saturday holds obvious appeal at 4/5 (Bet 365).
With all things considered, the 19/20 available with SportNation for Kilmarnock to score two or more goals also looks like an attractive betting proposition.
The league leaders have struck at least twice in four of their last five league games, whilst the Doonhamers defence has shipped 2+ strikes in a league-high 15/29 (52%) of their outings this season so far – a sample that includes each of their last two encounters with Kilmarnock.
Recommended Bets
- Kilmarnock to Win & Under 6 Match Goals – 4/5 (Bet 365)
- Over 1.5 Kilmarnock Goals – 19/20 (SportNation)
