After four winners from four in his Premier League match previews on Saturday, SlipsTips has lined up a Bet Builder double ahead of Sunday’s round of top-flight fixtures from England.
Chelsea vs Newcastle (Sunday, 14:00)
Chelsea will be looking to make it five Premier League wins on the spin when they welcome Newcastle United to Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
The Blues brushed aside Norwich 3-1 on Thursday night, while the visitors continued their upturn in form with a 2-1 win at Southampton, in a game which brought up my featured bet.
That means Eddie Howe’s team have now avoided defeat in each of their last nine top-flight outings, an eye-catching sequence that has handed them a massive boost in their bid to beat the drop.
The visitors’ recent resurgence suggests they’re more than capable of keeping this capital clash competitive and I’m therefore going back to Newcastle to hit 3+ corners as the first part of an even-money (Bet 365) double.
The Magpies have been standard-frequency corner takers this term, earning 4.56 per-game, but it’s worth noting that they have hit the 3+ line 15 of their 18 outings under Eddie Howe’s tutorship.
What’s more, Chelsea have conceded three or more flag kicks in each of their last eight Premier League games, a sample that includes fixtures with lesser lights Burnley and Norwich.
West Ham United vs Aston Villa (Sunday, 14:00)
West Ham will be aiming to snap a three-game losing run across all competitions when Aston Villa visit the London Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
I’ve covered this match-up in more detail in a separate match preview but I’m also going to factor this fixture into the second-half of my Bet Builder double.
West Ham’s quest for Champions League qualification seems to have hit the buffers, while Aston Villa roll into East London having triumphed in each of their last three top-flight tussles.
The Hammers are being stretched thin by injuries and continental commitments at the moment and the high-flying visitors could have the weapons to hurt David Moyes’ men.
Steven Gerrard’s side have struck at least once in 22 of their 27 Premier League games this season and they will fancy their chances of notching against a West Ham backline that has been breached in 21 of their 28 top-flights assignments this term to date.
With that in mind, I’m more than happy to round off the Bet Builder double by backing Aston Villa to get on the scoresheet at the London Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
