Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me delve into the Conference League and there’s a match that I like the look of for goals.

Leicester City host French side Rennes in the first leg of their last 16 Conference League tie at the King Power Stadium. The hosts are currently 12th in the Premier League table, whilst the visitors currently occupy 4th spot in Ligue 1.
Leicester City dropped into the Conference League after finishing 3rd in their Europa League group, finishing behind both Spartak Moscow and Napoli. Brendan Rodgers side comfortably defeated Danish minnows Randers 7-2 on aggregate in the last round, setting up this tie with Rennes. Leicester have scored in seven of their eight European matches this season, scoring 17 goals. The Foxes have also found the back of the net regularly in the Premier League this season, scoring in 21/25 of their matches, scoring on 40 occasions. Leicester have struggled defensively this season, keeping just five clean sheets across their 33 league and European matches this season, conceding in all eight in Europe.
Rennes return to European action after topping their Conference League group, finishing above Dutch side Vitesse, as well as fellow Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur. Bruno Génésio’s side come into this having won each of their last three Ligue 1 matches, scoring 10 goals in the process. As well as scoring 10 goals in their five group-stage matches (game vs Tottenham was postponed), the Brittany side have scored 53 goals in their opening 27 Ligue 1 matches this season, with only league leaders PSG (56) scoring more. Les Rouge et Noir did concede in four of their five group-stage matches and have conceded in eight of their 11 Ligue matches away from home, with those three clean sheets coming against three of the current bottom four.
Bet of the Day
Leicester will look to take a first leg advantage to Brittany, but face a tough task against an in-form Rennes side. Bruno Gènèsio’s visitors come into this having won each of their last three Ligue 1 matches, whilst The Foxes have recorded back-to-back wins over Burnley and Leeds United. Both sides have regularly found the back of the net this season, with Brendan Rodgers side scoring in 28/33 of their league and European matches this season, whilst the visitors have scored in 27/32 of theirs. Leicester have recorded just five clean sheets all season, whilst Rennes have conceded in 8/11 away from home in Ligue 1, highlighting both sides vulnerability at the back. Given each teams record at both ends of the pitch, I’m banking on there to be at least three goals in the match with both sides contributing in what should be a entertaining match first leg.
