ANNAN ATHLETIC face a massive Scottish Cup tie against Rangers next week and will be playing for places when they welcome Stenhousemuir on Saturday and the in-form Galabankies can get the perfect warm-up with a win.
Stenny were the last team to beat Annan in any competition and that came way back in the middle of November. Since then Peter Murphy’s side have been in sensational form.
They are now unbeaten in their last 11 games and although they have drawn their last two league games and had to rely on a gritty extra time win at Clydebank in the Scottish Cup, they should have too much firepower for the Ochilview side.
Stenny have been on something of a mini-revival themselves, but they are nine points behind Annan and the shades under evens at 20/21 looks value for a home win.
DUNFERMLINE have endured a horror season, but there are suddenly signs that they are heading in the right direction under John Hughes and they can win at one of their manager’s former clubs this week when they face Ayr United.
Hughes took over a shambolic Pars side and the initial signs suggested he too would struggle to get a tune out of them. But after a disastrous 5-0 mauling at Morton last month, he appears to have turned them around.
They have won two out of their last three games against Hamilton Accies and a real six-pointer against Queen of the South while drawing at home to Inverness.
The addition of Steve Lawless should be good business, while the return of Graham Dorrans should be massive for them.
Ayr’s new manager bounce after the appointment of Lee Bullen has gone stale and he’s since lost three of their last four games.
And 19/10 seems to be a nice price for an away win at Somerset Park.
LIVINGSTON lost at home in midweek to St Johnstone, but they can make amends by beating an Aberdeen side who struggle on their travels.
David Martindale’s side would go level with the Dons with a win at the Tony Macaroni Arena and they will be desperate to make amends for a midweek defeat against Saints that they dominated for most of the second half before falling to a sucker punch.
Aberdeen are second bottom of the table on away form which is criminal for a side with European ambitions. They’ve won just two out of 12 games on the road and there could be value in the 9/4.
