Sports stops for no one and the action continues throughout Christmas with plenty of highlights over the festive period.
Whether you’re into football, racing, cricket or more, there looks to be something for everyone on our screens over the coming days.
Football: Boxing Day Bonanza
Despite calls to the contrary, it looks like there will be nine Premier League games to look forward to on Boxing Day, with two of those set to be shown on television.
The 17:30 match-up sees 17/4 Aston Villa host 4/6 Chelsea on Sky Sports Main Event, with the 20:00 kick off between 20/21 Brighton and 3/1 Brentford also available on that channel.
Then on Monday, Sky Sports Main Event will again be the venue when 11/2 Newcastle host 4/9 Manchester United.
There is then a midweek fixture list featuring matches on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with all those games being streamed on Amazon Prime.
However, the real highlight of the festive football calendar may come a bit later in the celebrations. There is always an Old Firm match scheduled for this time of the season and Sky Sports Football looks set to be the place to be when Celtic host Rangers at midday on January 2.
Horse Racing: Kempton Key to Christmas Racing
Racing may be taking its annual break after the conclusion of Wednesday’s cards at Ludlow, Southwell and Wolverhampton but it returns with a bang on Boxing Day.
There are set to be 11 meetings held on either side of the Irish Sea, with the headliner undoubtedly the annual action at Kempton, where they host the Christmas Hurdle at 14:30 and the King George VI Chase at 15:05.
You can watch all of the racing when logged into MansionBet, while the Kempton card will also be shown on ITV1 from 13:00, with the Rowland Meyrick Chase from Wetherby at 14:10 added to that broadcast.
ITV4 is the place to watch the horses on TV on Monday 27, with Kempton again featuring for the Desert Orchid Chase at 14:30.
Chepstow will also be visited for the Welsh Grand National at 14:50 and, as of writing, four previous winners, amongst them top-weight Native River, are set to go to post.
Cricket: England Hoping to Avoid Melbourne Misery
If you fancy an early start to your Boxing Day viewing pleasure, the third Ashes Test actually begins at 23:30 UK time on Christmas Day.
After defeats in Brisbane and Adelaide, England trail 2-0 heading into what is always one of the sporting highlights of the year, the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne.
Coverage starts on BT Sport 1 from 22:30 and the hosts are 5/12 to record a third straight win, while a 5-0 series success is 6/4.
Those who are either a little worse for wear or less fond of staying up all night may also be interested to know that South Africa and India begin their battle on Boxing Day.
The first of three Tests starts in Centurion, with the Proteas 23/10 to make a winning start against the 6/5 tourists, with all the action on Sky Sports Cricket.
Darts: All to Play for at the Ally Pally
The PDC World Championships is a staple of sporting Christmas telly and there is one more full day of play on Thursday before the tournament restarts on Monday 27.
Sky Sports Darts is the place for all the action from the Alexandra Palace, with round two set to be completed on Wednesday and Thursday, before round three kicks into gear.
Defending champion Gerwyn Pice is through to the post-Christmas rounds after easing past Ritchie Edhouse 3-1, while 2020 hero Peter Wright and three-time champion Michael van Gerwen also emerged from their opening matches unscathed.
