St Johnstone v Ross County
ROSS COUNTY can add to St Johnstone’s woes at a big price in Perth on Saturday.
Last season’s Scottish and League Cup double winners look a shadow of their former selves and their controversial decision to sell Ali McCann and club captain Jason Kerr on transfer deadline day has come back to bite them on the backside.
They are the lowest scorers in the league and have a midfield that get swamped and are weak. They were dumped by Dundee in midweek and they could and should have lost by more.
Saints have major problems in all areas of the park and injuries aren’t helping them either. They face a County side who are starting to gain momentum under Malky Mackay.
A goalless midweek draw at St Mirren made it one loss in five and that was at Ibrox against Rangers. They will have a real go at McDiarmid Park and could even send Saints to the bottom of the table. The 12/5 looks a nice price.
Cowdenbeath v Stirling Albion
STIRLING ALBION are evens to win at League Two bottom dogs Cowdenbeath and that seems a generous price.
The Blue Brazil are under new management after Maurice Ross took charge and althoiugh they were unlucky in his first game against runaway leaders Kelty Hearts, they have since lost to Elgin City and Forfar Athletic.
They are seven points adrift at the bottom and have lost six games in a row in all competitions. The Fifers haven’t won a League Two game since August.
Stirling had gone through a dip of their own recently, but bounced back in style last week by negotiating a potential Scottish Cup banana skin when they thrashed Tranent Juniors.
With a strike force including the likes of Dale Carrick and Dylan Mackin, they should have too much at Central Park.
Queen of the South v Partick Thistle
PARTICK THISTLE can make it five wins in a row in all competitions at Dumfries when they face Queen of the South.
The Jags have been in terrific form and look solid at 10/11 to win at Palmerston Park. Thistle have freescoring striker Brian
Graham in fine form and they have plenty of attacking options as Ian McCall’s side look increasingly likely to have a major say in who goes up in a tight league.
South grabbed a replay at Cove Rangers last week in the Scottish Cup, but may find the Firhill side a tougher nut to crack.
