Friday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me focus on two sides at the top of their respective leagues. I’m backing both sides to collect all three points to give us a nice even money double.
Zenit vs Rostov

Reigning Russian champions Zenit play host to Rostov at the Gazprom Arena. Zenit are once more top of the Russian league, four points clear of Dinamo Moskva. The visitors come into this in 11th, just three points outside the automatic relegation places.
Zenit won away to CSKA Moskva 0-2 last time to continue their recent good run of form. After back to back defeats in the middle of October, Zenit have gone unbeaten in their last five league matches, winning four and scoring an eye-catching 18 goals. Zenit have been strong at home once more this season, collecting 21 points from a possible 24. By a distance, Zenit are the top scorers in the Russian Premier League, scoring 41 times in their opening 16 matches, with 26 of them coming at home.
Rostov continued their poor away form in their last league match, going down 2-0 against mid-table Akhmat Grozny. That now means it’s just one away win in their last five, losing three of them. Grozny have kept the fewest clean sheets in the league so far this season, keeping just one and that came at home. Rostov have the second worst defensive record in the Russian Premier League, conceding 29 goals from their opening 16 matches.
Helmond Sport vs Volendam

League leaders Volendam are on their travels as they take on Helmond Sport at the SolarUnie Stadion. Volendam come into this match three points clear of Excelsior at the top, whereas Helmond are in a lowly 17th position.
Helmond Sport suffered late heartbreak last time out as they conceded an 89th minute goal to lost 1-0 to NAC Breda. That extends their winless run to seven in the league, with them losing four of their last five. Helmond have lost their last three at home, conceding 10 times and scoring just twice, including a 1-5 defeat to the side directly below their upcoming opponents Excelsior last time out. A major problem for Helmond is their lack of firepower, scoring just 14 goals and failing to score seven times, with only AZ II having a poorer record.
Volendam continue their excellent run of form as they defeated an in-form Den Bosch 3-0 last time out. That extended Volendam’s unbeaten run to 14 in the Eerste Divisie, winning 11 of them. Volendam are the only side to remain undefeated on their travels this season, with them winning five of their last six. Volendam are the only side in the league to score in every and are the leagues joint top scorers with 43 from their opening 17 matches. Volendam have a 100% record against bottom half sides, winning all eight.
Bet of the Day
Once more, reigning champions Zenit sit top of the Russian Premier league and will look to increase their lead to seven points at home to Rostov. Zenit have won 7/8 at home in the league this season, scoring 26 goals and they should prove to be far too strong for a Rostov side who are just three points above the automatic relegation places and who have conceded the second most amount of goals in the league so far this season. Two sides at opposite ends of the table and in contrasting form meet in Holland as league leaders Volendam are on the road against Helmond Sport. Volendam come into this unbeaten in their last 14, winning 11, whereas Helmond are winless in their last seven, losing four of their last five. Volendam have scored 29 goals more than Helmond Sport this season and the league leaders should simply outscore their opponents here and collect another three points.
