Liverpool are the only top four team in action on Saturday so they’ve a chance to move in to second place with a win over Southampton.
The Saints have failed to score in their last five visits to Anfield and have lost the last four to a 12-0 aggregate score so they don’t generally enjoy trips to Merseyside but the Reds are just 2/7 to win so there’s no value there however corners could be worth a look.
Only Man City (8.25 per match) have generated more corners than both Liverpool (7.58) and Southampton (6.25). A BetBuilder which features Over 5 Liverpool Corners with Over 1 Southampton Corner pays 5/6.
Both Steven Gerrard and Dean Smith will be aiming to build on their debut wins for the respective new clubs Aston Villa and Norwich City.
Villa face a tricky trip to Crystal Palace who are in the midst of a seven match unbeaten run and have a good home record in the fixture, wining five of the past six league meetings at Selhurst Park. Palace (6/5) look like they could edge it but it could be safer to side with two or more goals for the home side at 5/4 (Bet365).
Norwich host in-form Wolves who have won five of their last seven in the league and are up into sixth in the table. After back-to-back wins Norwich are still as big as 13/5 to win but on their day this Wolves side look a good outfit and will be popular at 21/20.
Fulham have been on our radar all season and have delivered for us more often than not, in no small part thanks to the scoring exploits of Aleksandar Mitrović who’s netted 21 goals for the Cottagers already this season. But the Serbian hitman is a doubt for the lunchtime kick-off at Preston after missing the midweek stalemate at Derby County.
Another handful of other Fulham players are also touch and go which might explain why they’re around the 4/5 mark, so keep an eye on team news before getting behind the Championship table-toppers.
In Scotland Motherwell look generously priced to win at Dundee. The Fir Park side have won their last two including a fine win over Hearts last weekend. They’ve dominated this fixtures and with Dundee not having played for almost three weeks the 9/5 on the away win can’t be overlooked.
It’s also Scottish Cup weekend and that means the potential of a few upsets. Keep an eye out for Auchinleck Tablot at home to Hamilton. The junior side were 12/1 earlier in the week and have been backed in to 11/4. Banks O’Dee (7/2) are another side who have been backed to dumped struggling East Fife out of the competition.
And of course we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for Paul’s beloved Clydebank who host League 1 Clyde at Holm Park. We’re sure he’d have been all over the 10/3 on the Bankies to progress.
