Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me focus on both the Czech First League and the Norwegian Eliteserien. I’ve picked a selection from each league in which I like the look of to give us a nice odds against double.
Slovácko vs Bohemians 1905
🇨🇿 First League
⏰ Saturday 23rd October, 15:00
On form Slovácko host mid table Bohemians at the Městský fotbalový stadion Miroslava Valenty. The hosts are currently in 4th position, only a point behind Sparta Prague in 2nd. The visitors currently sit in 10 position on 12 points.
Slovácko come into this in great form with them winning each of their last four matches, scoring 13 times. In fact, they’ve won eight of their 11 matches in Czech First League, with only capital clubs Sparta and Slavia defeating them. Slovácko are unbeaten against bottom half sides, winning six out of seven. At home, Slovácko still have a perfect record, winning all five of their games with them scoring on 10 occasions, conceding just three times and keeping three clean sheets.
Bohemians were thrashed 4-1 last time out away to fellow mid table side Mladá Boleslav despite taking the lead. They’ve now lost three of their last four games with them conceding 13 goals. Bohemians have only won one of their six away games this season, losing three of the last four. Bohemians are yet to beat any of the current top five sides in the Czech First League, losing three of the four games, conceding on 12 occasions.
Viking vs Lillestrøm
🇳🇴 Eliteserien
⏰ Saturday 23rd October, 15:00
Viking host Lillestrøm at the SR-Bank Arena in a fixture that looks set for goals. Viking currently occupy 5th spot and are three points and a place above their opponents coming into this.
After 22 rounds of matches, Viking finally kept their first clean sheet of the season last time out as they won away to Strømsgodset. That extends Viking’s great run of form recently, with a defeat to the champions Bodø/Glimt their only defeat in their last nine matches. Only three sides have scored more goals than Viking’s tally of 42 so far this season, with them only failing to score three times. Viking had conceded in their previous 21 Eliteserien matches before last weekend, with only two of the bottom three sides conceding more than them. 18/21 of their matches have seen over 2.5 goals this season, including 9/11 at home.
Lillestrøm don’t come into this in great form, winning only on of their last five matches. Last time out they drew 0-0 with Kristiansund which was only their fifth clean sheet and only the third time they failed to score. Lillestrøm do still have the second best away record in the Eliteserien, with no side scoring more on their travels than their tally of 19. As well as scoring in all bar one of their away games, they’ve also conceded in all bar one too. 8/11 of their away games have seen over 2.5 goals, including each of their last four.
Bet of the Day
Slovácko are currently the form side in the Czech Republic and I expect them to keep that run going. They host a Bohemians side who are quite the opposite right now and are leaking plenty of goals. Slovácko have won all five of their home league games so far and I expect them to make it six in a row against Bohemians 1905. Viking have been one of the most entertaining sides to watch in the Eliteserien due to their attacking nature. Whilst they score plenty of goals, they do leave themselves exposed at the back and concede a few themselves. They host a Lillestrøm side who aren’t currently on a great run of form but have a good away record and should contribute in what should be a match full of goals.
- Slovácko to win
- Viking vs Lillestrøm – Over 2.5 Goals
- Double Pays 7/5 (William Hill)
