Friday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me focus on both the Dutch Eerste Divisie and the Belgian Pro League. I’ve picked a selection from each league in which I fancy goals in to give us a nicely priced double.
Almere City vs PSV II

Almere City host PSV II at the Yanmar Stadion in a meeting between two struggling sides. The hosts sit in in 19th position, two points and two places off their opponents.
Almere were defeated 1-0 away to fellow strugglers Den Bosch last time out to extend their run of six games without a win. Despite their lowly position, that game last week was the first time all season Almere had failed to score. Almere have scored 18 goals so far this season, with only five sides scoring more. However, their biggest problem is defensively, as they kept only one clean sheet in 11 attempts, and have the 3rd leakiest defence, conceding 21 goals. Eight of their 11 matches this season have seen at least three goals.
After going two games unbeaten, PSV II were eventually defeated 2-3 by Telstar last time out despite coming back from two goals down. A big reason why PSV II are in the lowly position they are is due to their defensive record. They are one of only three sides yet to keep a clean sheet after 11 rounds with them conceding on 18 occasions. PSV have scored 14 goals so far this season, however six of them have came in their last three games, scoring twice on each occasion. Seven of their 11 fixtures have broken the over 2.5 goal barrier so far this season.
Seraing United vs Sporting Charleroi

Sporting Charleroi are on their travels on Friday night as they take on Seraing United at the Stade du Pairay. The visitors lie in 7th and only five points off the top, whereas Seraing sit in 14th on 12 points.
Last time out, Seraing were leading 0-2 at half time away to league leaders Union Saint-Gilloise, before capitulating in the second half and losing 4-2. In their last outing home, they impressively dispatched Zulte Waregem 5-1 and make it three home wins out of five. Seraing have scored 14 goals so far this season with 10 of those goals coming at home. Seraing have only kept one clean sheet this season however, with them conceding in each of their last nine matches. Only Zulte Waregem and bottom side Beerschot-Wilrijk have conceded more goals than them in the Pro League.
Charleroi recorded their first win in four at the weekend as they defeated Genk 2-0. They remain the only side in the division still unbeaten on their travels, winning two and drawing three. 11 of their 19 goals they’ve scored in the Pro League have come away from home, with them scoring in all five fixtures. They haven’t collected a clean sheet away from home since the opening weekend, with them conceding in each of their last four. They’ve conceded seven times in those away matches, conceding on multiple occasions in each of the last three.
Bet of the Day
Both Almere City and PSV II have struggled so far this season and that is due to how leaky each of their defences are. Both sides are capable of scoring though and whilst I can see both scoring, I’m backing there to be at least three goals to be scored. Goals have been a feature of both Seraing United and Sportong Charleroi games this season. Seraing have had a pretty decent home record so far this season and I’m expecting to at least score here. Charleroi are still the only side unbeaten on their travels in the Belgian Pro League but have been conceding goals of late. I’m expecting an open, entertaining match here in which both sides should score.
