The divisional races are heating up, so let’s take a look at some of the big clashes that lay ahead this weekend.
Detroit Lions @ Los Angeles Rams
I really do feel bad for the Detroit Lions. After all, their head coach is doing everything that he can to try and get his team to win ball games. There is simply not enough talent on either end of the football to really remain completive against some of the top teams in the league. Which is exactly the reason why they stand no chance in this game. We watched the depleted New York Giants get splashed out of the stadium against the Los Angeles Rams the other week and the Lions will have the same outcome. Matthew Stafford and this Rams offense are on another level this season, they are firing on all cylinders and are healthy. Defensively, they have two of the best weapons in the game with Jalen Ramsey and Aaron Donald. I would say that the Rams are a fantastic bet to win this game and that Stafford will throw for three touchdowns. Betting on Darrell Henderson scoring a rushing touchdown is also a great choice, considering the team will be up by so much that he will take a lot of carries in the red zone.
Houston Texans @ Arizona Cardinals
For some reason, two teams have fairly easy opponents this upcoming week. The Houston Texans have been putting up great fights in some of the games that they have played but without Tyrod Taylor they are just a rebuilding roster. The Arizona Cardinals on the other hand are 6-0 on the season after absolutely obliterating the Cleveland Browns last weekend. I would bet that the Cardinals easily win this ball game as the talent difference is outstanding between these two clubs. Kyler Murray should also be ready to pour in four total touchdowns, because I just have that feeling he is going to break the plain with his legs at some point in this contest. Another good bet would be Davis Mills throwing an interception. With Arizona blowing them out, Mills may be forced to throw the ball way more than he would like. That level of constant passing in order to keep up will eventually come back to bite him and get him intercepted.
Chicago Bears @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Chicago Bears surprised me with their fight against the Green Bay Packers last week. Yes, there is a lot to work on still, but they showed some promise. Justin Fields has a lot of work to do at delivering deep passes, but their run game looked phenomenal and their defense held up in the first half, though they fell apart in the second. As for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they barely held off a strong Philadelphia Eagles comeback on Thursday Night football and look to dominate somebody else now. Unlike the other two games, I don’t at all see the Bears getting blown out. However, I do think that the Buccaneers will win this game for sure. I would bet that Brady and this offense are going to want to have a big day and that they score at least three touchdowns. I would also bet on the Tampa Bay defensive line, as they are going to have a field day against Chicago’s offensive line and possibly pick up four sacks on the day.
