Scottish Football expert Mark Walker returns after the international to bring us hos top three bets in Scotland this weekend.
Albion Rovers v Elgin City
ELGIN CITY can pile on the pain for Albion Rovers with a win at Cliftonhill in League Two.
Gavin Price’s men took a shock two-goal lead last week against Championship leaders Caley Thistle in the Challenge Cup before eventually succumbing to a 4-2 loss.
And they’ve previously drawn at runaway league leaders Kelty Hearts and won at Stenhousemuir, with their recent away form being better than their Borough Briggs displays.
They could have ex-Ross County midfielder Ross Draper available on Saturday in Coatbridge for the first time and the on-loan Cove Rangers star could make a big impact.
For Brian Reid’s men, it looks like a long struggle this season. They’ve lost four in a row in all competitions and that could well be extended to five tomorrow at 29/20 for Elgin.
Dundee v Aberdeen
ABERDEEN can finally turn the corner by winning at happy hunting ground Dens Park when they face Dundee on Saturday night at 29/20 also.
Stephen Glass’ side are on a horror run of nine games without a win in all competitions that started when the manager fielded a weakened team in a League Cup loss at Raith Rovers…and they’ve never recovered.
Defeat at Dens would be unthinkable and the Dons have got to turn the corner sometime. They are always backed by a raucous support there, especially with a late kick-off and they would have used the international break to regroup.
It doesn’t look good for Dundee on and off the pitch with a desperate start to the season, one goal in their last six matches and four defeats in a row, along with a row over bonuses
Aberdeen have won each of their last seven visits to Dens Park and haven’t lost a league game there since 2004.
Dumbarton v Queen’s Park
QUEEN’S PARK remain unbeaten in League One and they can win at Dumbarton.
The Spiders are locked at the top of the league with Cove Rangers, but have suffered from too many draws – they have drawn four of their last six league games.
But they face a Dumbarton side who were pummelled at Peterhead in their last league game to crash to a 5-0 defeat. They could have topped the table with a win that day, but were poor.
They lost to Cove at home already this season and the former amateurs can plunder three points from The Rock on Saturday too at 17/20.
Recommended Bets
- Elgin City 29/20
- Aberdeen 29/20
- Queen’s Park 17/20
