A new week begins with plenty racing action to come and Monday’s feature meeting takes places on the outskirts of Edinburgh at Musselburgh.
They’ve got a seven-race Flat offering at Musselburgh on Monday afternoon, with racing from 1.50pm-5.20pm.

1.20 – Happy Birthday Hera Hull Handicap Division 1 (5f)
Plenty of these boast C&D-winning form – the likes of Lord Of The Glen, Quanah and I’ll Be Good amongst them – but preference is for Iain Jardine’s filly THE GLOAMING.
She scored over track and trip on soft ground back in May and was runner-up last month on her most recent visit here.
A lesser effort on the Tapeta at Newcastle since is overlooked and, with ground conditions in her favour and a career-low handicap mark to fight from, Andrew Mullen’s partner should give another good account back here.

1.50 – 100% Racing TV Profits Back To Racing Selling Stakes (1m4½f)
Eastern Sheriff is clearly the one to beat, dropping into Selling company for the first time, but his last run at Newcastle was rather disappointing and he needs to rebound.
The main alternative is KHAGAN for David O’Meara. He hasn’t got his head in front since 2019 but has some fair efforts this season in better company and will not get a better chance to shine.

2.25 – New Mr & Mrs McGarrity Handicap (7f)
Tommy G is a super servant to Jim Goldie and could harbour sound claims of adding to his four 2021 wins already, especially with Amie Waugh taking 5lb off his burden here.
IRIS DANCER is preferred however as the Kodiac filly looks to secure a first win since joining Tristan Davidson this summer.
She’s finished second four times at Hamilton over 5f/6f and was given a bit too much ground to make up when fourth last time at York (6f, good) in a Class 4 event. Dropped in class, she may do well tackling this new trip.

3.00 – British EBF Flying Scotsman Conditions Stakes (5f)
Tarboosh is a former winner of this contest and has the ability to repeat, but his form of late is far from convincing and so the red-hot ROULSTON SCAR seems the logical choice for the Simon & Ed Crisford operation.
The Lope De Vega gelding has been making hay in this sort of contest, with wins at Leicester and Chelmsford last month both coming in clear-cut fashion. The hat-trick beckons with PJ McDonald taking over the reins now.

3.35 – Racing TV Profits Back To Racing Handicap (5f)
Tim Easterby’s ALBEGONE is the form horse. He won easily over C&D (good to soft) last month and followed that up with another clear-cut score at Hamilton (5f, soft) a week later.
He was turned out again three days later under a double penalty and was only narrowly foiled in finishing second have failed to get the best break from the stalls.
He’s rated 3lb higher now and rises in grade but, with only 8st 10lb on his back, this looks set to provide him with another good chance to excel himself.

4.10 – Racing TV Bass Rock Handicap (7f)
After registering four wins in six starts on these shores since early June, FOOLS RUSH IN made the journey across the Irish Sea to Leopardstown last month for a tilt at a €75k handicap on Champions Weekend.
Things didn’t go his way there but it’s likely he can quickly put that behind him. He’s effective under testing conditions and has his chance once again for the Tom Dascombe team.

4.45 – Happy Birthday Hera Hull Handicap Division 2 (5f)
Stronsay was a Hamilton winner earlier in the season and should give another good account here but his 2-39 strike-rate isn’t overly promising.
These are not the most inspiring collection and ALEHANDRO might have been found a good chance to shed the maiden tag.
The Toronado gelding was third over C&D last month on debut for this yard, despite looking ill at ease in the early stages. If he builds on that he has his clams.

5.20 – Visit Racing TV Now Handicap (1m1f)
A real open look to this finale. Despite a wide draw, CAPTAIN CORELLI makes appeal given his consistency of late for Julie Camacho.
He was rewarded with a 1m Carlisle success last month on faster ground and has since backed that up when finishing second behind an easy winner at Beverley.
He now tackles the longest trip he has faced so far, and should be in the firing line when it matters.
