Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me once again focus on the European World Cup Qualifiers. I’ve picked out my favourite two selections to give us a nice double.
Sweden vs Kosovo

Sweden host Kosovo at the Friends Arena in Group B at Saturday teatime. The Swedes currently lie in 2nd spot and four points behind Spain, although they do have two games in hand. Kosovo, meanwhile, lie in 4th spot, five points behind their opponents.
Sweden will look to get back to winning ways after suffering a 2-1 defeat in Athens to Greece last time out. Prior to that, Sweden had made a perfect start to the group, winning their first three games including a 2-1 victory over the Spaniards in their last home fixture. Sweden have a notoriously strong home record, with them unbeaten in their last 15 qualifiers at home, winning 12. Sweden secured a comfortable 0-3 victory in the reverse fixture with Kosovo in March.
After collecting four points from their two matches at home to Greece and away to Georgia, Kosovo were then defeated 0-2 by Spain to leave them in 4th position in Group B. Kosovo have now lost both matches with Spain and also the corresponding fixture with Sweden which shows they struggle against the better nations. This is proven even more with Kosovo losing all six of their qualifiers away to sides ranked inside the top 50.
Luxembourg vs Serbia

Serbia once more take on Luxembourg at the Stade de Luxembourg in Group A on Saturday evening. The visitors lie in 2nd position and two points off leaders Portugal. Luxembourg lie in 3rd spot and five points behind their opponents but do have a game in hand.
Luxembourg will be quite satisfied with the start they’ve made to Group A, collecting 6/12 points. They defeated Azerbaijan at home after an historical 0-1 win in Dublin over the Republic of Ireland in March. However, they’ve been defeated 1-3 at home to Portugal as well as losing 4-1 in Belgrade last time out. In qualifying for Euro 2020, Luxembourg lost all three matches with Ukraine, Portugal and Serbia, conceding a minimum of two goals each occasion.
Serbia will be disappointed after dropping two points in Dublin last time out as Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenković scored an 86th minute own goal to draw 1-1 with Republic of Ireland. Nevertheless, Serbia only sit two points behind Portugal, with the pair meeting in Lisbon next month. Serbia have already scored 12 goals in their first five matches, with that game in Dublin the only time they’ve failed to score 2+. This will be the fourth meeting between the sides in the last two years, with Serbia winning all three and scoring 10 goals with them scoring 2+ on each occasion.
Bet of the Day
Sweden know if they want to finish above Spain in the group that they need to collect all three points at home to Kosovo. Such is their strong home record in qualifying, I expect them to win against a side who struggle against the elite nations. Serbia also know if they want to finish top of their group that they must take maximum points away to Luxembourg. Serbia have failed to keep a clean sheet in qualifying so far but have been scoring plenty of goals, with key striker Aleksandar Mitrović already scoring seven times. Serbia should manage to find the back of the net at least twice against a side they seem to enjoy facing.
