1.10 – Mansionbet Best Odds Guaranteed EBF Maiden Stakes
Dukedom and Wolsey set the form standard in this mile contest, but it could be wise to look elsewhere given the former has been beaten at odds-on on two occasions while an easy lead may have flattered Wolsey on debut.
The best-bred horse in the race is Al Nafir, who is by Dubawi out of Galileo mare Nightime and therefore a full brother to Ghaiyyath. Charlie Appleby won this race last year with a similar type.
Selection: Al Nafir – 1/1
1.45 – British EBF Premier Fillies’ Handicap
Via Sistina is interesting at a big price if she bounces back from a below-par run in France last time, but marginal preference is for the William Haggas-trained Evident Beauty.
This daughter of Le Havre, whose progeny handle rain-softened ground better than most, remains lightly raced after four runs and shaped nicely at Haydock 30 days ago.
It’s hard to oppose this smooth-travelling filly who appears well treated off a mark of 86.
Selection: Evident Beauty – 15/2
2.20 – £150,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes
Richard Hannon’s sales race record is second to none and although he rarely has the top-rated horse in the field, he often walks away with the winner’s prize.
Foden, a decisive winner on soft ground at Lingfield when last seen, looks the best of his representatives here.
He clearly has to improve on figures to beat the likes of Fearby, but Foden could have won by ten lengths last time if he was extended and this may have been the target all year.
Selection: Foden – 10/1
2.55 – Kingdom Of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes
Champers Elysees was sent off favourite for last year’s edition of the Sun Chariot on the back of an impressive last-to-first victory in the Matron at the Curragh.
She failed to justify market expectations by finishing fourth on the Rowley Mile, but you could mark up her effort as she endured a troubled passage.
This season hasn’t quite gone to plan, but she caught the eye after another rough ride when last seen and shouldn’t be overlooked.
Selection: Champers Elysees – 18/1
3.30 – Mansionbet Beaten By A Head Maiden Stakes
There’s very little form on show here and those who have run set a low bar for the newcomers. The William Haggas-trained Al Mubhir warrants respect given his pedigree (by Frankel out of Muffri’Ha), as does Galileo colt First Officer, but the vote goes to Filistine.
From a family that relishes testing ground, this Arqana breeze-up purchase is fancied to get off the mark at the first attempt.
Selection: Filistine – 9/4
4.05 – British EBF Premier Fillies’ Middle Distance Handicap
Recording two all-weather novice successes by a combined 22 lengths will guarantee that Beholding isn’t missed in the market, but the ease of those victories suggests an opening mark of 92 underestimates her ability.
John and Thady Gosden could have targeted a Group race on the back of her Kempton romp, but instead they try to exploit an obviously workable opening mark.
Selection: Beholding – 9/4
4.40 – Mansionbet Bet £10 Get £20 Fillies’ Handicap
Canoodled’s sole start on soft ground ended in a five-length canter off a mark of 65 at Lingfield.
She hasn’t managed to replicate that performance in three subsequent outings, largely due to the fact that she keeps blowing the start, but prevailing conditions makes her a real player under Hollie Doyle if she breaks on terms.
Selection: Canoodled – 7/1
