9.12pm Towcester – D1
With two wins from five appearances at Towcester over this 270-metre distance, Coppice Fire has made an excellent start. Kevin Hutton’s runner has yet to score in this D1 grade, but this looks a great opportunity for him to do so.
This dog produced an impressive time of 16.03 on his penultimate start in a D2. He was well fancied to score that evening and the confidence behind him was proved correct as he scored by just under three lengths.
Hutton’s sprinter made the task harder last time in a D1 as he did not break well, leaving him too much to do heading into the home straight. He has been trapping sharply prior to that run so it does look like it was a one off. Hopefully he comes out better this time, and if he does, he should be strong for his rivals in the second half of the contest.

6.48pm Crayford – S2
Kid Bella is back in graded action after some fantastic performances in Open races over the last few weeks. She recorded back-to-back victories at this track over 714 metres. She was a surprise 14/1 winner in the first of those successes, while on her latest win she was more fancied at 5/2.
The Droopys Jet bitch is the only runner in this race who has run sub-34 seconds over this six-bend distance (540m) at Crayford. She has won two of her five races in this grade of S2 and she has a good record from trap two (5-12).
This latest draw looks favourable in this race as the bitch on the inside of her has been coming out slow from the boxes. Hopefully she will get a clear run to the first bend and will be handy as they cross the finish line for the first time.

7.07pm Crayford – A7
Hiya Blackie is on a six-race losing run now but she has been given a helping hand here by the handicapper who has downgraded her to A7. This bitch has won three of her eight races at this level, so she is more than capable of prevailing.
Tom Levers’ runner clocked a career best of 23.88 last month in this grade. Although she has been beaten on her last two attempts, her times have been respectable. If she gets a clear run, she is likely to get back to winning ways and move back up the ladder to A6 action. It would be no surprise to see her step up in distance in the future to 540 metres.
