After delivering another winner in his featured column on Saturday, SlipsTips has lined up a double from Sunday’s Scottish Premiership card.
St Mirren vs Aberdeen (Sunday, 12:00)
Both St Mirren and Aberdeen will be looking to secure a much-needed win when the pair lock horns at St Mirren Park on Sunday lunchtime.
I’ve already penned a separate match preview on this televised tussle but I’m also going to factor this fixture into the first half of a 9/10 (UniBet) double.
St Mirren are still searching for their first league win of the season, while Aberdeen are now winless in seven matches across all competitions.
With both teams in desperate need of points in order to climb up the division, I’m going to throw over 2.5 cards into the first half of my double.
All but one of the 12 Scottish Premiership games that these two teams have contested collectively this term have featured three or more cautions and I suspect a fiery midfield battle could be in-store on Sunday.
Willie Collum has been handed the whistle for this match-up and that only adds to the appeal of backing bookings, with the experienced referee reaching for at least three cards in each of his three top-flight assignments this season.
Hibernian vs St Johnstone (Sunday, 15:00)
Hibs will look to extend their unbeaten start in the Scottish Premiership when they entertain St Johnstone at Easter Road on Sunday.
The Hibees’ flying start to the season has been slowed by back-to-back draws but Jack Ross’ team rediscovered the winning feeling with a resounding 3-1 league cup triumph at Tannadice on Thursday night.
St Johnstone also sealed their passage to the semi-final stage in midweek, with a 2-0 win at Dundee, and the Perth Saints claimed their first three points of the season with a 1-0 win at Pittodrie last weekend.
With all things considered, I’m expecting a hard-fought fixture between these two familiar foes on Sunday so I’m more than happy to complete my 9/10 (UniBet) double with over 2.5 match cards in the capital.
Hibs are averaging 1.33 cards per-game but the hosts did share eight bookings with both Motherwell and Dundee respectively, while over 2.5 match cards have copped in all six league games involving Callum Davidson’s crew this season.
What’s more, referee John Beaton will be the man in the middle at Easter Road, an appointment that immediately had my eyes drawn to the card markets given that the Scottish whistler has flashed 20 cards across three top-flight outings this term.
Recommended Bet
- St Mirren vs Aberdeen – Over 2.5 Match Cards
- Hibernian vs St Johnstone – Over 2.5 Match Cards
- Double (9/10, UniBet)
