There’s a full round of fixtures in Ligue 1 on Wednesday, rounded off by leaders Paris Saint-Germain’s trip to bottom-of-the-table Metz.
Metz no Match for Parisiens
All eyes will be on the Stade Saint-Symphorien for an 8pm kick-off when Mauricio Pochettino takes his side to struggling Metz as Le Parisiens aim to make it seven wins from seven at the start of the season.
Lionel Messi will miss the game due to a knee injury as the superstar continues to make a stuttering start to life with the French giants but Kylian Mbappe and Neymar should be involved and anything other than a comfortable away win would be a surprise.
Backing PSG to win by two goals at 3/1
is one option or going for a win to nil – considering basement boys Metz have lost their last three games without scoring – also appeals at 23/20
.
Lille to Kickstart Season?
Earlier, there are five games that kick-off at 6pm, including champions Lille’s home game with Reims. Lille have managed just one win so far and are way off the pace already in their title defence, sitting down in 15th place.
However, they can get things kick-started with a much-needed home win here, available at 20/27
, against a Reims side who have just one win on the board so far themselves.
Back to the 8pm games, and two of the current top four go head-to-head when second-placed Marseille go to Angers, two places below them.
Marseille have impressed in recent weeks, with three successive Ligue 1 victories over Saint-Etienne, Monaco and Rennes and they will want to lay down another marker in the battle for Champions League places with another success.
A Marseille win, available at 13/10
, looks the way to go, especially considering Angers’ bright start to the campaign was brought crashing down to earth when they lost 4-1 at home to Nantes on Sunday.
Lens can Maintain Great Start
Third-placed Lens, who are six points adrift of PSG, are also in action at 8pm when they host Strasbourg, who are down in 12th. In some ways, this looks a tricky clash to call as Lens are still unbeaten this season (won three, drew three), and Strasbourg come into the game on the back of a convincing 3-0 success over Metz.
However, at 21/20
for a home win, Lens look too good to turn down as they aim to continue their fine start. In their last four games, Franck Haise’s side have scored eight goals in three victories and a draw, with all eight scored by different players.
That truly underlines a top performing team all over the park and they should have too much for a Strasbourg outfit who have been inconsistent so far, winning just two of their six Ligue 1 games.
