SlipsTips has made a flying start to the Scottish Premiership season and has another two picks for us ahead of Saturdays’ batch of fixtures.
Hibs vs St Mirren (Saturday, 15:00)
Hibs remain unbeaten in the Scottish Premiership and they will have three points in their sights when they welcome St Mirren to Easter Road on Saturday.
Jack Ross’ side played out a 0-0 draw in the Edinburgh derby last weekend, less than 24 hours after St Mirren’s match with Dundee United also ended goalless.
Unsurprisingly, the Hibees are heavily fancied here but it’s the even-money (1/1) on offer with UniBet for over zero Hibs goals and over one St Mirren card that my eyes were drawn to.
Hibs have scored 2+ goals in 4/5 league outings this season while the Saints, who are still searching for their first league win, have shipped 10 strikes across their opening five top-flight fixtures.
With that in mind, I’ll side with at least one Hibs goal on Saturday, but in order to bring about the aforementioned even-money Bet Builder, I’ll also back the Paisley guests to pick up a couple of bookings.
Jim Goodwin’s men are averaging two yellows per-game this term but they have also been shown an eyebrow-raising three red cards so they may deploy the dark arts in the capital in an attempt to tame top-heavy Hibs.
Ross County vs Hearts (Saturday, 15:00)
Ross County host Hearts on Saturday afternoon in a meeting between two teams who have had contrasting starts to the Scottish Premiership season.
The Staggies are still waiting to claim their first three points of the season but the fixture computer has been far from kind to them after handing County clashes with last season’s top-four.
Malkay Mackay’s sides’ difficult opening stretch to the Scottish Premiership season continues this weekend as high-flying Hearts head for the Highlands.
The unbeaten Jambos are general 8/11 favourites on Saturday but by switching gears we can get some 23/25 (UniBet) on Over 3.5 Cards being flashed at Victoria Park and that quote looks a little too big to me
Ross County shared four and five cards in recent fixtures with both Rangers and Aberdeen respectively, while each of Hearts’ two top-tier road trips this term have featured four or more bookings.
What’s more, the above-mentioned card bet has copped in six of the 10 league games that these two teams have contested collectively, not to mention we also have a decent referee appointment in David Dickinson who has dished out at least four bookings in the last four Scottish tussles that he has taken charge of.
Recommended Bets
- Hibs vs St Mirren – Over 0.5 Hibs Goals & Over 1.5 St Mirren Cards – Bet Builder – 1/1 (UniBet)
- Ross County vs Hearts – Over 3.5 Cards – 23/25 (UniBet)
