KevMac casts his eyes over the lower leagues in Scotland to pick out his best bets for the weekend.
Ayr United v Dunfermline Atheltic
WE’RE only four games into the new SPFL season but we already have a managerial casualty with David Hopkin quitting Ayr.
The Honest Men crashed 2-0 at home to Raith in midweek and Hopkin decided to walk with the fans far from amused and turning on the team.
Ayr have taken just a point from their first four games but it’s Dunfermline who currently prop up the table, albeit they have a game in hand.
The Pars have let me down a couple of times this season but are 5/4 for a win at Somerset Park today and that looks decent value.
Going for goals has been a safer option with Peter Grant’s men and there could be a few today.
Over 2.5 strikes is evens with Bet365 and that looks a good shout as the bet has landed in all but one of Dunfermline’s nine matches.
Inverness v Partick Thistle
It’s Inverness who top the Championship after four successive 1-0 wins and they host second-placed Partick Thistle this afternoon.
The Jags have scored six times so far in the league so this could be the day when Caley Thistle’s defence is finally breached.
Both teams to score is 20/21 at Mansionbet while Brian Graham is 7/4 to grab a goal for Thistle.
It could get a bit fiery and veteran duo Kirk Broadfoot (7/2) and Richard Foster (4/1) might be worth a punt when it comes to picking a player to be carded.
Kilmarnock v Morton
Kilmarnock saw their unbeaten start come to an end when they lost at home to Caley Thistle.
They now host Morton and are odds-on favourites with Killie’s best price just 8/15 at Mansionbet.
Ton have been leaking goals of late so I fancy over 1.5 Killie strikes, although the odds aren’t great at just 8/13 with McBookie.
There’s better value in the scorer markets where Oli Shaw is 9/10 with McBookie for a debut strike. He’s also 9/4 with Bet365 to score Killie’s first goal of the day.
I can see goals in the other two Championship games and a BTTS double on Raith v QoS and Arbroath v Hamilton pays 175/100 with (McBookie).
Queen’s Park v Airdrieonians
Betting against goals has been profitable when it comes to games involving League One leaders Queen’s Park.
Under 2.5 goals has come up in nine of their 11 matches and that bet pays 19/20 at Unibet when they host Airdrie today.
Alloa v Falkirk
Falkirk face a tough match at Alloa and I fancy BTTS at 10/13 (Mansionbet).
Kelty Hearts v Elgin City
League Two leaders Kelty are at home to Elgin in a repeat of their League Cup clash earlier this term.
That ended 3-1 to Kelty so I’m backing a home win with BTTS, which pays 17/10 at McBookie.
Stirling Albion v Forfar
Forfar visit Stirling and I fancy over 2.5 goals at 10/11 with Unibet.
Super Singles
BTTS Double
- Alloa v Falkirk, Stirling v Forfar (2/1, Mansionbet).
McBookie Bet Builder
- COMBINING a Killie win with over 1.5 goals and over 1.5 cards pays a fraction under evens.
