Domestic football takes a back seat for the next few weeks as World Cup qualifying gatecrashes the 2021-22 season.
But before the international fixtures begin there’s a couple of days of lower league action in England with the National League enjoying a full card on Bank Holiday Monday and the EFL Trophy filling the void on Tuesday night.
The week ahead sees Scotland make a difficult trip to Denmark ahead of a home match against Moldova as Steve Clarke looks to build on their unbeaten start to the campaign.
England are off to Hungary on Thursday before returning to host minnows Andorra at home, a game which might allow Gareth Southgate to utilise his squad.
Wales warm up for their trip to Belarus on Sunday with a friendly at home to Finland on Wednesday while Northern Ireland face an uphill struggle to qualify following a draw with Bulgaria and defeat to European Champions Italy so far. Ian Baraclough’s men really need to win their Thursday night date in Lithuania.
Back to Monday and it could pay to back to goals in the National League. There’s been 55 goals scored in 20 matches so far, averaging 2.75 goals per game. Skybet go 5/6 on there being 26+ goals score in the nine 3pm kick-offs but that doesn’t look good value as we’d need an average of 2.88 goals per match to win.

If the same average is to be achieved over Monday’s nine matches we should expect in the region of 109 in total. Instead, Skybet have 92+ corners at 10/11, 100+ corners at 3/1 and 108+ corners at a massive 11/1 and if you’re feeling really ambitious 116+ corners (avg 12.8 per match) at a mammoth 60/1.
