Bologna travel to Bergamo to take on Atalanta on Saturday teatime. Both sides kicked off their Serie A campaigns with dramatic wins last weekend.
Atalanta secured a win last week away to Torino with a 93rd minute winner through Roberto Piccoli to win 1-2. Prior to losing their last home game against AC Milan last season, Atalanta had won seven home games on the bounce including a 5-0 win over Bologna. In those seven victories, Atalanta scored an eye catching 23 goals. Only champions Inter and Napoli scored more than Atalanta’s 49 goals at home last season.
Bologna twice came from behind to defeat newly promoted Salernitana 3-2 last weekend. Prior to that victory, Bologna got knocked out of the Coppa Italia, losing 4-5 at home to second tier Ternana. Bologna lost all seven of their away games against the top 7 sides last season, conceding 18 goals.
Famalicão vs Sporting Lisbon

Famalicão host champions Sporting Lisbon at the Estàdio Municipal 22 de Junho stadium on Saturday evening. This is a meeting between the side bottom of the league versus the team at the top.
Famalicão’s disappointing start to the season continued last time out with a defeat to newly promoted Arouca. That’s now three defeats out of three in Liga NOS so far this season, conceding six times. Famalicão failed to defeat ‘the big 3’ and Braga at home last season, conceding 13 times. Famalicão lost their opening home game of the season to last year’s runners up Porto 1-2.
Sporting have made the perfect start to the defence of their league crown with three wins out of three, scoring seven goals. They defeated Belenenses 2-0 last weekend to complete my double and bring up my Bet of the Day. Last season, Sporting won an impressive 13 of their 17 away games last season, with only Lisbon rivals Benfica defeating them.
Bet of the Day
For a couple of years now Atalanta have been known as the entertainers in Serie A and should have enough fire power to defeat a Bologna side who concede far too many goals and tend to struggle away to the better sides in the league. Sporting should extend their winning run at the start of the season against a Famalicão side who are bottom and pointless.
