Mishriff was a brilliant winner of the Juddmonte International yesterday. I’m pleased for David Egan who has really had a breakout year with some huge wins on this horse. What a versatile horse he is – to have won in so many different countries, over different trips and on different ground/surfaces is very impressive. Here are some horses to look out for on Day 2 of the York Ebor Festival.
1:50 – Lowther Stakes
SANDRINE (5/4
) has been very impressive in her three starts to date. She proved her Royal Ascot win was no fluke when confirming that form in a Group 2 at Newmarket. She carries a 3lb penalty for that win, but she is a very strong filly, and I don’t see her having too many issues today. She looks very uncomplicated, and I know she’s been pleasing the team at home.
3:35 – Yorkshire Oaks
I hope Wonderful Tonight lines up vs SNOWFALL! It would make for a brilliant race. Snowfall has been very impressive this season and she won her first race of the year here at York, so we know she acts around here. She has won her three races by a combined distance of 25 lengths this season which shows the ability she has. Wonderful Tonight has continued to impress but it is a tough task giving weight to Snowfall and with the ground not sure to suit, it could be a tough task for her.

Looking through the card, the eye couldn’t help being drawn to Dermot Weld’s raider AMMA GRACE (9/2
). Dermot loves this meeting and the booking of Oisin Murphy was notable. He has won this race before and It’d be no surprise to see him win it again this afternoon
I’m back at York tomorrow!
Stay safe,
Hayley!
