It’s another afternoon of MansionBet-backed racing at Nottingham on Friday with a seven-race card at the Colwick Park circuit from 1.15pm-4.45pm.
The feature contest is the MansionBet Beaten By A Head Colwick Cup over two miles at 3.35pm. Watch all the action from Nottingham and every UK and Irish race via live streaming when logged into MansionBet. Our tipster has a race-by-race look at Friday’s card.
1.15 – MansionBet Proud To Support British Racing EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes (6f)
Newcomers Brush Creek and Commandment are worth paying attention to in the betting, while White Jasmine, Magnolia State and Pulcheria have shown ability and may get involved, but this may go the way of SERENITY for William Haggas and Cieren Fallon. Her Newmarket debut (6f, good to firm) saw her beaten a length into third in a 16-runner novice, and with progress likely, this is a fine opportunity to register.
Selection: Serenity @ 11/8
1.50 – MansionBet Bet 10 Get 20 Handicap (5f)
A few of these appear to be on good marks, but none more so than last week’s emphatic Thirsk winner DANA FOREVER. After some solid efforts in defeat, she made every yard under Luke Catton in an apprentice handicap over 6f on soft ground and won with plenty in hand. Unpenalised and with her partner now able to claim 7lb in the saddle, a repeat success is very much in the offing.
Selection: Dana Forever @ 9/4
2.25 – MansionBet Watch And Bet Handicap (5f)
Fantasy Master is a dual winner over C&D and might find a return to this venue is a positive, while Havagomecca won at Ascot last month over this trip and is still low-mileage. MISS NAY NEVER has done all her winning to date on the all-weather, but she’s effective on turf and comes here in good tune after a win at Newcastle last time. Her attacking style can pay dividends on this track.
Selection: Miss Nay Never @ 10/3
3.00 – MansionBet Best Odds Guaranteed Maiden Stakes (1m½f)
It’s somewhat of a concern that Diamil is 0-4 arriving from Ireland, but he could scarcely have gone closer on his final run for Mick Halford at Leopardstown (1m, good) last month and sets the bar now starting out for Ralph Beckett. Mobarhin is one no doubt capable of better but newcomer BASHKIROVA could trump them both in the Cheveley Park colours for William Haggas and Cieren Fallon. The well-bred Pivotal filly makes sound appeal on paper and can give a good account.
Selection: Bashkirova @ 7/2
3.35 – MansionBet Beaten By A Head Colwick Cup Handicap (2m)
Recent Ffos Las winner Roar and Ascot scorer Speedo Boy are respected, but GOOBINATOR still remains lightly-raced on the level after the smart hurdler won last month at York over this sort of trip. Paul Mulrennan rode a patient race on the Knavesmire, and his mount could have more to offer. From 4lb higher, another big run is forecast if he can avoid traffic woes.
Selection: Goobinator @ 7/2
4.10 – MansionBet Extra Places Fillies’ Handicap (1m2f)
This is a stronger grade than the Windsor race TREGONY won 11 days ago, but that was her fourth straight victory amid a much-improved run of form, and she did it seemingly with any amount in hand, travelling all over opponents before cruising home. This is a better test of her newfound progression – with Babindi the main threat – but Clive Cox’s daughter of New Bay isn’t done winning just yet.
Selection: Tregony @ 5/4
4.45 – AJA Novice Flat Amateur Jockeys’ Handicap (1m2f)
The mare Dream Point was successful at Catterick last month and generally is having a good time of it lately. She should go well again, while Risaalaat and Quoteline Direct are others to keep an eye on. BIGBADBOY is a former C&D winner (on soft), and he shaped well at Catterick (1m4f, good) on his third start following a wind operation. He gets on well with Charlotte Mulhall, back on board today, and is entitled to be in the mix.
Selection: Bigbadboy @ 6/1
