Aberdeen have been all the rage with punters after they were priced up at 21/10 earlier in the week to win at Livingston on Sunday.
The Dons have made an impressive start to the season, safely navigating their way past Swedish outfit Hacken, notching a 2-0 home against Dundee United and recording a 4-2 away win in the first leg of their tie with Beidalblik in Iceland on Thursday.
Stephen Glass seems to finally have them heading in the right direction and the additions of Scott Brown and Christian Ramirez look like shrewd pieces of business.
Livi weren’t expected to get much out of their visit to Ibrox in the Premiership curtain-raiser last weekend and duly lost 3-0. Of more concern would’ve been their results in their Premier Sports Cup where they squeezed through the group stages as one of the better 2nd-placed finishes, largely thanks to wins over lowly Brechin City and Cowdenbeath.
David Martindale’s side have been widely tipped to struggle this season and they tend to come off worse in clashes with the Dons. After seeing the odds on an Aberdeen win shorten significantly, they’ve drifted slightly again to a backable position at 7/4 (Ladbrokes).
Celtic fans’ eyes would’ve lit up when they saw the result from Tannadice on Saturday. A 1-0 defeat for Rangers has opened the door for the Hoops to draw level on points with Steven Gerrard’s side after they lost last weekend at Hearts.
A 4-2 win against Jablonec in midweek suggested some green shoots of recovery for Ange Postecoglou who has added some much-needed experience in the shape of Joe Hart and James McCarthy, to make it five new faces this season who could feature against Dundee.
There’s simply no room for error for Celtic, even at this early stage of the season, but defensive frailties were still evident in Czech Republic in midweek and yet to keep a clean sheet this season. The Bhoys should win in front of 25,000+ fans but they might need to score at least two to do so against a generally attack-minded Dundee side.. Celtic to score Over 1 Goal & Dundee to score Over 0 Goals is 11/8 on a Bet365 BetBuilder.
At Easter Road Hibs can continue their good form under Jack Ross. The Hibees were impessive going forward in their 3-2 win at Fir Park last week and should shrug off any tiredness from their hard-earned 1-1 with HNK Rijeka on Thursday to overcome Ross County at 4/7 (Marathonbet)
Finally in the Premiership, Motherwell look overpriced at St Johnstone. The Saintees did Scotland proud with a fanastic 1-1 draw away to Galatasaray on Thursday but might suffer for the exploits on Sunday. Well looked sharp on Sunday against Hibs, especially Van Veen up front and can pose St Johnstone some questions at McDiarmid Park. At 3/1 (Ladbrokes), Motherwell could be worth an interest.
Super Single
- Aberdeen to win 7/4 (Ladbrokes)
