After delivering a clean sweep of SPFL winners on Saturday, SlipsTips has lined up a Bet Builder double ahead of Sunday’s round of Scottish Premiership fixtures.
Aberdeen vs Dundee United (Sunday, 15:00)
Aberdeen will be looking to make a winning start to the Scottish Premiership season when they play host to Dundee United on Sunday,
The Dons have rolled the dice with a new management team and a raft of new signings and they will be keen to hit the ground running.
New Aberdeen boss Stephen Glass has promised a more attacking brand of football this season and there were some early signs of promise when the Reds hit Hacken for five in the Europa League.
There has also been a change in the Dundee United dugout in the form of Tam Courts, an appointment that was met with backlash by some sections of the Tangerines fanbase.
Financial issues have meant the new United chief will be asked to blood more youngsters from the academy and Courts and Co could be set for a baptism of fire as Aberdeen welcome more than 6000 fans to Pittodrie on Sunday.
With all that in mind, coupled with the hosts’ eye-catching close season captures, I’ll back Aberdeen to score at least one goal and to avoid defeat in the first half of my Bet Builder double.
Motherwell vs Hibernian (Sunday, 16:30)
Motherwell open their Scottish Premiership season at Fir Park against Hibernian, who enjoyed a strong campaign last term when securing a first third-placed finish in 16 years.
That has earned Jack Ross and his men a European return in the inaugural Europa Conference League, with the capital club cruising through to the third qualifying round with a comfortable victory over Santa Coloma.
Motherwell, on the other hand, endured a tough season last time out and their leaky Premier Sports Cup group stage displays have done little to lift the mood in North Lanarkshire.
What’s more, Well boss Graham Alexander lost some key players over the summer while Hibs have retained the services of most of their key players from the squad who were the third-highest scorers in the top-flight last season.
As such, I’ll back top heavy Hibs to strike on Sunday, but in order to nudge up the price, I’ll throw over two Hibs corners into the equation.
Ross’ preferred system focuses on width and three or more flag kicks doesn’t look like too much to ask of an attack-minded team who were averaging 5.37 corners per 90 minutes last season.
Recommended Bet
- Over 0 Aberdeen Goals & Aberdeen Double Chance
- Over 0 Hibs Goals & Over 2 Hibs Corners
- Bet Builder Double (4/5, Bet 365)
