ACTION across the SPFL gets underway at the weekend as they race for title glory begins.
It’s no surprise to see Rangers as McBookie’s 8/15 Premiership favourites after their unbeaten league season last time.
Across the city, new Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou faces a massive rebuilding job and the Hoops are as big as 40/17 with SBK.
But it should be tighter than last term and the Hoops are a tempting 9/1 at Skybet in the handicaps with a six-point start.
Aberdeen were hugely impressive in the first Euro qualifier as they thrashed FK Hacken 5-1.
The Dons look to have recruited well and are 5/4 with Skybet to finish in the top three, which looks decent value.
It was Hibs who were best of the rest last term and Jack Ross’ men are 7/4 with the same firm for a repeat.
Betfred are also offering prices on a top-six finish and I like the look of St Mirren at 11/4.
The Buddies came within a whisker of getting there last term and Jim Goodwin has bolstered his squad with some shrewd signings.
St Johnstone pipped them to that top-six slot last term and capped a dream season by winning both cups.
It’s an impossible act to follow but manager Callum Davidson has kept his squad together and added some depth.
Saints are 6/4 with Betfred to finish top six and I expect them to fight it out with St Mirren and Hearts for the last two places in the upper half of the table.
The Jambos are back after winning the Championship and are 5/4 with Betfred to break into the top six.
At the other end of the table, Ross County are McBookie’s 5/2 favourites to finish bottom ahead of 3/1 shots Dundee.
But Livingston have been poor in the League Cup groups and could be worth a speculative punt at 7/1.
There could be value in the top scorer market with Odsonne Edouard and Alfredo Morelos probably heading to new clubs soon.
Kemar Roofe is likely to be the main man for Gers and he’s 11/2 with SkyBet to be the league’s top gun.
Celtic new boy Kyogo Furuhashi is 16/1 at the same firm but it might be wiser to look outside the Old Firm for someone who is nailed-on starter.
Kevin Nisbet falls into that category for Hibs and might be worth a punt at 14/1 (SkyBet).
Christian Ramirez got off the mark on his Aberdeen debut and is a 20/1 shot.
Kilmarnock are just evens with McBookie to win the Championship but a good each way bet could be Dunfermline at 7/1.
The Pars have been decent in the League Cup and have recruited well.
League One will be hugely competitive and Queen’s Park look a little overpriced at 5/1 with McBookie for a second successive title.
Kelty are 8/11 favourites in League Two but relegated Forfar might be worth an each-way punt at 12/1.
