After delivering another winner from the Swedish Allsvenskan on Saturday, SlipsTips turns his attention to the Scottish League Cup on Sunday.
Hearts vs Inverness CT (Sunday, 17:15)
Hearts and Inverness bring the curtain down on the Premier Sports Cup group stage when they square off at Tynecastle on Sunday teatime.
The already-qualified Jambos will be looking to make it four wins from four Group A assignments after comfortably swatting aside Cove, Peterhead and Stirling Albion.
Inverness, meanwhile, head south with their Scottish League Cup campaign drawing to a limp close.
Billy Dodd’s boys opened with a 2-0 win over Peterhead but subsequent setbacks against both Stirling and Cove consigned Caley to an early exit from the competition.
As such, Hearts are hot favourites to bank another win this weekend but I’m going to swerve the match result market and instead head to Bet 365‘s Bet Builder.
The 4/5 (Bet 365) combination that I like the look of on Sunday is over one Hearts goal, over zero Hearts corners and under five match cards.
Robbie Neilson’s side have been steady if not spectacular in the Scottish League Cup so far but they have scored at least two goals in each of their three group games to date.
What’s more, this fixture will provide Neilson’s charges with one final chance to stake a claim for a starting berth ahead of next Saturday’s mouthwatering meeting with Celtic in the Scottish Premiership
Inverness, on the other hand, have little left to play for, not to mention they have shipped five goals across their last two group games, both which were against two of the lesser lights of the section.
Such defensive frailty does not bode well ahead of a trip to Tynecastle and with all that in mind, I’ll happily back the hosts to notch up at least two strikes on Sunday.
In order to boost the price up to 4/5 (Bet 365), I’ll throw at least one Hearts corner as well as under five match cards into the equation.
Bookings were in short supply during the majority of group stage fixtures on Saturday and given that some will view this game as a glorified pre-season friendly, I’ll complete the combination with under five match cards.
