2.00 – MansionBet Proud To Support British Racing EBF Maiden Stakes (6f)
All of these contenders have raced previously and plenty have exhibited some promise. Sovereign Prince hasn’t matched market expectations in runs at Newmarket and Newbury, but drops in grade here and has potential for better. King Of War came home well on his Windsor bow and should build on that but perhaps the best option will be WINGS OF WAR for Clive Cox and Hector Crouch. He had two subsequent scorers behind when second at Leicester (5f, good to firm) on debut last month and looks a certain improver over this increased trip.
Selection: Wings Of War @ 6/4
2.35 – MansionBet Bet 10 Get 20 Nursery (6f)
The likes of Whistledown and Pretty Green are potential improvers switched to handicaps but preference is for LETHALLY LOVELY for Adrian Nicholls. The filly came in for market support in a Leicester seller (6f, good to firm) this month – her fourth start – and she made every yard under Stefano Cherchi for a decisive success. An opening handicap mark of 64 looks a very fair starting point now.
Selection: Lethally Lovely @ 11/4
3.10 – MansionBet Watch And Bet Handicap (6f)
It’s been a while between drinks for Royal Prospect but his best effort for this trainer came last time at Thirsk. Given he’s won from marks in the 80s, he should be dangerous if building on that now. Thrice-raced INCLEMENT WEATHER narrowly missed out on second appearance at Wolverhampton last month and has again run well since on turf bow at Windsor (5f, good to firm). Alex Hales’ filly has an opening mark of 62 to work from and looks a challenger.
Selection: Inclement Weather @ 9/2
3.45 – MansionBet Best Odds Guaranteed Handicap (1m2f)
State Of Bliss took a silver medal home from his trip to Ayr over this trip earlier in the month and Mark Johnston’s son of Gleneagles remains with more to come at the trip. Siam Fox tackles this increased journey for the first time and is respected but, in the same King Power colours, the vote is reserved for POSSIBLE MAN for Sir Michael Stoute and David Probert.
He went close on turf bow/seasonal comeback at Leicester in April over this distance and possibly had soft ground as an excuse when held in a four-runner Sandown contest on handicap bow since. He’s been dropped 2lb and should find these conditions more to his pleasing.
Selection: Possible Man @ 3/1
4.20 – MansionBet Beaten By A Head EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes (1m½f)
Sweet Believer returned from his layoff with a fine second at Newmarket (1m, good to soft) in June and sets the standard on that showing. STAR SEEKING however was far too good on debut at Leicester (7f, good to soft) in a novice contest back in September and should improve upped in trip on her return. Sir Michael Stoute’s daughter of Gleneagles may have enough about her to give away the penalty now.
Selection: Star Seeking @ 10/11
4.50 – MansionBet Extra Places Handicap (1m½f)
Enigmatic knows how to win and arrives in good heart, while Surprise Picture was better than ever in scoring at Yarmouth last time and will have a chance again despite a 5lb rise. FAR HOPE won two of her first three starts, impressing at Brighton (1m, good to firm) in June in a novice event. Her Royal Ascot experience in the Sandringham on handicap bow is best forgiven and Simon & Ed Crisford’s charge is expected to quickly get back on the up.
Selection: Far Hope @ 9/2
5.20 – Follow MansionBet Handicap (1m½f)
An open finale at Nottingham and perhaps it’s worth taking a chance on SPIRIT OF THE BAY making her breakthrough on return from a short break. She has shaped with some promise thus far over 6f/7f. It was a decent race she attempted to make all in at Newmarket (7f, good) in September and targets are significantly lowered now. She may outrun her price.
Selection: Spirit Of The Bay @ 15/2
