My Football Bet of the Day see’s me focus on the midweek card in the MLS. It features the two sides top of their respective conference who are both in action at home.
New England Revolution vs Toronto FC
🇺🇸 MLS
⏰ Thursday 8th July, 00:00
New England Revolution host Toronto at the Gillette Stadium to kick off the midweek card. New England currently sit top of the Eastern Conference three points above Orlando City whereas Toronto sit bottom eleven points off the play offs.
New England will be glad to return to the Gillette Stadium after failing to win their last two games away including throwing away a two goal lead to draw 2-2 with Columbus Crew last time out. New England have won all five home games this season scoring ten goals. New England are the leading scorers in the Western Conference with 20 goals scored in their 12 matches.
Toronto come into this after suffering a humiliating 7-1 defeat away to DC United which led to them parting ways with manager Chris Armas. Toronto are currently winless on a six match losing streak in which they love conceded 18 goals. No side is both the Eastern and the Western Conference has conceded more than Toronto’s 27 with 20 of them coming in their seven away games.
Seattle Sounders vs Houston Dynamo
🇺🇸 MLS
⏰ Thursday 8th July, 02:00
Houston Dynamo travel to Seattle to take on Seattle Sounders. The Sounders currently sit top of the Western Conference above Sporting KC on goal difference despite playing a game less whereas Houston sit in 6th place inside the play offs.
Seattle drew 1-1 away to Colorado Rapids last time out to equal a league record of going 12 matches unbeaten at the start of a campaign. At home Seattle have won four and drew three of their seven games. Their tally of 14 goals at home is only bettered by Sporting KC (15) in both the Eastern and Western Conference. Seattle have scored 2+ goals in five of their seven home games.
Houston Dynamo’s 1-1 draw at home to Cincinnati last time out now means it’s four successive draws for the Texan side. Houston are still winless on the road after six games failing to keep a single clean sheet and have conceded 11 times. Houston have conceded 3 goals in both away games to Colorado Rapids and Sporting KC, two sides above them in the table.
Bet of the Day
New England Revolution should be able to score at least 2 at home to manager-less Toronto side who have the worst defensive record in the league. Seattle will look to stay top of the Western Conference by claiming another three points. If they are to do so they may have to score at least 2 goals as Houston Dynamo have scored in every game so far this season.
- New England Revolution to score 2+ goals
- Seattle Sounders to score 2+
- Double Pays 1.46/1 (William Hill)
