Italy meet Austria in the last 16 of the Euros at Wembley on Saturday evening. Italy finished up as winners of group A whereas Austria finished runners up in group B.
Italy have been arguably the most impressive team so far this tournament and cruised through their group winning all 3 games without conceding a single goal. Their defensive record has played a big part in their success and have recorded 11 straight clean sheets. They’ve also won 10 games on the spin and they’ve played in this tournament so far, they look as if they’ll make it 11 and break Vittorio Pozzo’s 30 game unbeaten run in the 1930’s and go through to the last 8.
Austria come into this after securing a 1-0 win over Ukraine to secure 2nd spot. They also defeated North Macedonia but were totally outclassed by the Dutch in a 2-0 defeat. I feel as if this game will play out similar to that of the Dutch game. Austria will try and sit back against Italy and while that may work for a bit, I feel as if the Italians extra quality will shine through. Austria also failed to create much in that game in the Dutch and will find it even more difficult to create chances against this solid Italian defence.
Sporting Kansas City vs Los Angeles FC

Sporting Kansas City host Los Angeles FC at the Children’s Mercy Park on Saturday evening. This is a match up between two sides in the Eastern Conference as Sporting KC sit 2nd and 4 points off Seattle whereas LAFC sit in 8th outside the play offs on goal difference.
Sporting KC come into this after securing a 3-1 victory over the Colorado Rapids at home. That kept up their excellent goal scoring form this season as no side has scored more than their 20 in both the Eastern and Western Conference. They’ve also scored in 10 of their 11 games including all 6 at home where they’ve scored 13 times. They have struggled to keep clean sheets though keeping only 1. They’ve conceded 14 goals and 6 of them have came at home.
LAFC come into this off the back of a 2-0 win over Dallas with what is being described as their best performance of the season. Carlos Vela scored his first goal of the season and with the like of Diego Rossi in their team, they have plenty of attacking options. LAFC have scored in 8 of their 9 games scoring 11 goals. That clean sheet against Dallas was only their 2nd of the season. They’ve conceded 10 goals this season conceding 5 in their 3 away games.

Italy have been impressive so far in the Euros so far and I’m backing them to defeat Austria. Their defence has been absolutely solid so I’m going to add in under 4.5 goals. Both Sporting KC and LAFC have plenty of attacking talent in their squads and score plenty of goals. Neither side are particularly strong at the back so there should be goals in this one.
