Sweden v Poland
It may feel like a fairly obvious choice. However, Sweden are exactly the sort of side who are able to produce these kind of performances. They lived dangerously against Spain in their opening Group E match, however, they were much better going forward against Slovakia. Their opponents looked dangerous, however, Janne Andersson’s side managed to keep them at arm’s length and they ended the day with an xG of just 0.56.
Polish fans will have been pleased to see their side pick up a point against Spain earlier in the week, and their physicality in the second half was a key part of their performance. However, they are unlikely to be able to bully Sweden, who are far more rigid and won’t be knocked off the ball easily. Another straightforward 1-0 victory would be enough to send Sweden through as the group winners.
1-0 Sweden | 15/4
Germany v Hungary
Germany turned on the style against Portugal on Saturday with Joachim Low’s side playing some fast, attractive and eye-catching football along the way. Although they were beaten by France in their opening Group F contest, they created plenty of chances in that game and across the 90 minutes, they fired in far more shots than Les Bleus.
The width provided by Robin Gosens and Joshua Kimmick gave them plenty of ammunition and Kai Havertz was excellent in front of goal. Hungary lost Adam Szalai to injury against France, yet they somehow managed to pick up a point from the game.
Playing their opening two matches in Budapest inevitably helped, however, this will be much tougher in Munich.
3-0 Germany | 11/1
