5:00 Sandringham Stakes – Professional Widow
I have won this race for the last two years and would love to make it a hat-trick today! Professional Widow (16/1) won nicely at Nottingham on her handicap debut, but went up only 3lbs for that win. That rise got her into the race off a nice low weight and given the soft ground, the lower the weight the better. We have got a high draw which is a big positive, it seems to me that you do not want to be drawn in the middle of the course here. This looks a wide-open renewal but Richard is hopeful of a good run.
6:10 Palace of Holyrood Stakes – Wings Of A Dove
Wings Of A Dove (50/1) has been highly tried and is still actually a maiden. She has run some very nice races in defeat but she will obviously have to step up to challenge those at the head of the market. She will certainly appreciate the big field and the draw is absolutely fine for her. The ground is a question mark for her, as it is for many of these but you can’t win if you don’t run!
